Mountain bike California, Rancho San Vicente

in steemitmtb •  7 years ago  (edited)

Here is my mtb ride from this morning. The Rancho San Vicente trail weaves it's way through the South San Jose foothills and near Calero reservoir. It is nice and green everywhere you look. In the summer, the grass will dry out and will be a golden color.

The ride was just short of 18 miles and 1300 feet of climbing.

One thing that I really like about this trail is that there are not really steep climbs, at least for an extended distance. I also like that it has tree cover which makes it much cooler in the summer months. For the most part, it is about 4 feet wide or so or a double track.

The landscape shots and scenery are great here. Lots of wild flowers and fresh air.

For the bike geeks out there, this bike is a Norco carbon hard tail with a 32 chainring and a 11-36 sram cassette with a wolftooth 40 added as a bailout gear.
I just purchased a Sunrace 11-46 cassette and a 34t one up components no drop chainring. I needed a bit more speed and I will now have a 34-11 and a climbing gear of 34-46.

Happy beautiful Sunday!

Then i prefer the spring colors than the dry out summer.

Guess you will see the color change jn a month or so

wow dude, this awesome. I'm more into fitness in regards to going to the gym but it seems like I'm missing out on nature haha. Perhaps I should start doing some cycling once in a while.

It's a great way to get away from urban life. Most cities have a local trail system where you can roll around on a mtb. One of the good things about it is after you get a bike, riding is essentially free.

That looks really beautiful. We don't have a whole lot of mountainous / hilly scenery like that near where I live in the Northeast but we do have a lot of trees and greenery and some of your photos remind me a bit of what it looks like here and some of the trails we have around too. Nonetheless it's a great hobby and a great form of exercise. Thanks for sharing.

There are mtb bike trails everywhere, go out and ride if you have a bike! Thanks for stopping by the blog.

Spectacular ride, a few years ago I rode a bicycle, but of those beautiful landscapes, it would be great to visit them in it. What a pleasure!

Hop on your bike again, it's a fun way to get your exercise

So beautiful and nice track. You are enjoying and exercising a lot. YOU are inhaling oxygen and it has enormous health benefits.

This looks absolutely perfect for a Sunday mtb ride!

Cheers
