What is Steemit Park?
“Steemit Park” is an interactive community garden in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. (Final proposed design rendering, above.) Located within the historic Herbert von King Park: Steemit Park is a pop-up installation that will be used to host Steemit meetups, local community events, workshops and dozens of activities throughout the year.

This project will be created, constructed and maintained with 100% STEEM and SBD donations! Your upvotes and donations will help make this community garden a reality. In return, we have some amazing awards for you. What will your STEEM and SBD get you?

Those who donate 50 STEEM or SBD will receive a 3D printed magnolia flower designed and printed by @hitheryon. The flower pays tribute to a special local landmark.

Want to see your name IN Steemit Park? Those who donate 200 STEEM or SBD to the project will have a placard (5” x 12”) with their @ username alongside a QR code link that connects directly to their Steemit.com page. Placards will be installed on the base of planters and benches.
How to Support with STEEM & SBD?
Simple! Click the “Transfer” button in your Wallet. Direct your donation amount to @hitheryon and make sure to leave a short message in the “Memo” letting us know which reward (a/b/c) you are donating for.
Good For Community, Good for Steemit
This new neighborhood hotspot in the heart of Brooklyn will act as a colorful and dynamic billboard for the Steemit community. We @hitheryon believe that this physical design project is an important and exciting proof of concept for STEEM and Steemit. We want to build something physical, lasting and impactful with cryptocurrency. Tens of thousands of people will visit Steemit Park this summer. Our team @hitheryon will host Steemit workshops and events for the purpose of onboarding community members and activists to the Steemit platform (this includes park visitors, park representatives, volunteers, local residents and more!)
Upvotes and donations will translate directly to funding for furniture, events, park maintenance, beautification and restoration for a neighborhood in need. This project is about discovering new ways of using STEEM and Steemit for social good!

Been thinking of supporting your project over the last couple days and it has taken me a bit to buy some SBD on Poloniex. Am I glad to say I would like to support your project to the amount of 200 SBD. Such a great idea, I wanted to be a part of it!! I have a few SP on the steemit platform, but I'm saving for a project of my own.
If there is a choice, I would choose a planter and if I got to choose what was planted in it, I would choose kale. But mainly just want to support!

I should also add that I am just about to start on a steemit sculpture. After it is built, I will be looking for creative ways to show the piece and support the steemit platform.

Not to be a debby downer, as I love this idea and am more than willing to donate. I just have a few questions. Is there a specific dollar amount that you are trying to reach to achieve renting the space in the park or is it open ended? I assume there is only so much space to be rented.

Not at all! We invite all questions and it's a valid one to ask. We're aiming to raise the equivalent of $10 - $15,000 USD to support the fabrication of all furniture, permitting and event programming from late June through August. The space that we are asking for is a footprint of about 30-0" x 40-0" ... we have a strong relationship with the park conservancy (they are thrilled that they don't have to pay for anything)... so that footprint could extend even further.
