Autumn at Buddha Bay in Sedona AZ.. Photo Steemit Challenge #14steemCreated with Sketch.

in steemitphotochallenge •  8 years ago

Hey there.. I'm not sure if this shot is applicable for the challenge, I didn't film it recently it was like a year ago.. And I couldn't find the original challenge post so I'm not sure what the rules are, but.. I was going to post this one anyways.. So I just decided to go for it, and if it's not applicable.. lemme know and I'll try to change the tags and stuff!

This was taken at the creek near where I live, it's called Buddha Bay and people come from all over the world and stack rocks which are known as Cairns.. There's usually tons of them all over the place, it's a really neat and interesting area. :)

This is a pretty photo. I didn't realize Sedona had autumn colors like this (guess I imagined a more desert climate). Would love to travel here one day!

Those cairns remind me of Michael Grab, professional rock balancer extraordinaire. Check out this video of him at work if you have not seen him, and more on his website.

Thanks! And yeah.. Sedona is almost kind of like an oasis in a big desert, hah. But.. Flagstaff up North is really nice and green and actually gets a lot of snow regularly as well.. We don't get much snow in Sedona.. Sometimes we can go a year or years without it.. But.. There definitely are some nice areas by the creek, especially up the canyon as well.. Some of the autumn colors in West Fork in the Canyon are amazing.. It has made it become my favorite time of the year.. Cause.. The trees and leaves kinda look like flowers. :)

I totally suggest visiting if you ever get a chance, and I am aware of that guy! I've had a few other friends link me his work before.. he really does some amazing artwork! Thanks for sharing. ._.

Very beautiful! I follow you ;)

Thanks!

This is a beautiful pictdure. The feeling is so like home--I'm from Colorado. This could have been in my backyard. Thanks for sharing. I hope you get recognized in this challenge. I love it! Upvoting and following you.

Thanks for the nice words and the well wishes. :) My sister and some of my other family lives in Colorado also and I've been there a couple times in my life, it is very similar! I like it there a lot. Oh and thanks for the follow as well! I followed you back.

Love Sedona!

Yeah.. Me too.. It really is a beautiful and special place. :) Even after living here my whole life, it continues to grow on me! ._.

I grew up in Winslow and flagstaff so I've been through a lot. One of my favorite places in AZ.

Ah! That's cool! I haven't been through Winslow much.. but.. I love Flagstaff, it's such a better temperature than in Sedona and the smell of those forests of pinetrees makes me happy for some reason, haha.
The drive up between Sedona and Flagstaff is really nice too. Especially the West Fork area! It's almost like a combination of the two.

Those rocks are so trippy! How do they balance like that?

Heh. Yeah! They are kinda trippy. :) And.. It's really just balance and gravity.. There's a really cool site called www.gravityglue.com with some really cool and amazing and hard to believe ones!

I'll check it out!
