These were taken during a walk today at Fairfield Hills, an old abandoned state mental hospital in Newtown, CT. The place is fascinating. Most buildings are fenced off. Those that can be rehabilitated are, the rest are being razed (most contain asbestos given the age of the buildings). One building was renovated to contain the municipal offices. Another was razed and an indoor sports complex was built in it's place.
The history of the facility can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairfield_Hills_Hospital
Both shots were taken with a Canon Xsi using a Sigma DC 18-250 lens.
