Steemit Photo Challenge #19 - Human Body - My Entry No. 1: First BreathssteemCreated with Sketch.

in steemitphotochallenge •  8 years ago  (edited)

This Divine Being was born at home in our bathtub.

She made her entry into her daddy's arms.

Just feel how peaceful this child is, born into the arms of love!

These were the moments of her first breath on this planet.

I'm so blessed to have been witness to such a miracle.

I perched with my camera along side the tub with this baby's older sister (then about 2) cradled in my arms, feeling her curious awareness and concern for her mother as she went through contractions in a warm bath with @quinneaker at her side.  QiQi would bury her face in my neck when it felt intense, and would get face to face with her mommy (@inokalrutz) between contractions receiving Inok's reassuring words of well-being.

As well as holding QiQi through these intense moments, I also held my camera, shooting hundreds of pictures of these indescribable times.  (Perhaps one day I will make a post about it all!)  With QiQi clinging on and wrapped in my warm embrace, we positioned ourselves to see and capture some astounding moments.

New life!!

Truly a miracle!

Really sensational - I get electricity all through my body looking at this gorgeous image! Glorious and incredible. Thank you for sharing @everlove!

As a photo, I love the framing and the simple tones - daddy @quinneaker's skin, her dark hair, and the white vernix. I love that she is safely cradled in his supportive hands; she's the subject but she is totally surrounded by daddy. This is an epic shot of a truly miraculous moment!

Yes!
Feel the power~*~

Sara, so grateful you can not only see but feel the beauty in this image. This was a miraculous moment--the picture pales in comparison to the unveiling of life itself. True beauty, in so many ways!

It gives this photo depth and resonance.

A baby was just born in a bathtub next door right before Thanksgiving!

So peaceful to be at home with the ones who love you the most. No better way to enter the world, in my opinion.

The water can help too!

That baby was born on the same day, just two years after our last one, at home, and in water, just like our last one!

Wow! AMAZING! Funny how things just are--so perfect!

It sure was interesting!

Awesome!

It was!

Thats perfect i think thats a winner in every way

@everlove Totally off-subject from this particularly beautiful photograph and story you have shared with us here, our conversation yesterday, and your posts about art and community in general have inspired me to finally share some of my non-musical artistic creations on Steemit in my most recent blog post. Would love any and all feedback from you if you have time. Thank you for all you do. Jah bless.

so gorgeos, I am happy to know how it feels, to get your baby in your arms :)

It is a beyond believable and describable. Pictures say so much, but truly there is nothing like the present moment. Thank you for feeling it!

I cannot imagine anything more pure and emotionally inspiring than this. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for those who embrace natural birth with such grace.

I am EVER blessed for the part I have been able to play in this experience. The child in the photos is child no. two. Child number three was born here: https://steemit.com/travel/@kotamdickson/my-epic-journey-to-and-through-ecuador-part-3

The child is a gift...

ITS ALIVE! I mean...this baby is a miracle.

More than you know!! Great expression!

One of the miracles is what is going on in this picture. That baby needs exactly what is happening here, not a forced first bath, to wash off the colors of coming into this world, before the welcoming embraces. That's how US hospitals do it. This is exponentially better.
Well done.

U know. It's so amazing to see natural perfection. This scene is a prime example as was Qinokus and yet they were very different.
Love to be able to share such raw potential or as you so profoundly spoke"miracle".
Life is a miracle~*~

This was truly miraculous to witness the peace and serenity of being cradled in love. No fluorescent lights, no monitors, forceps, speculums, drugs, strangers or interference.. I agree with you wholeheartedly. This feels exponentially better!

That is super awesome. I was with my Mom at home when she gave birth to 3 of my younger siblings. This is a winner in my book.

No wonder you're so awesome @gringalicious! Being present with Divinity in action is incredibly powerful. Thanks for your comment. I smile!

My youngest sibling, my Mom delivered by herself. My Dad was there, but she did it all. The mid-wife didn't show up until 2 hours later.

It's amazing -- this life! I love that women are beginning to believe in themselves again--to know childbirth is a natural process and tuning into one's own body can make all the difference in the world.

My Dad always says, "Since when did pregnancy become an illness?"

Bingo! Seems like your parents are on it!!

Welcome aboard, Sweetheart :)

<3 for sure <3
