SteemitPhotoChallenge #11 - Entry #2 Angelique Noire!

My second entry for the #11 Glamour and Fashion #steemitphotocontest is a milestone shoot I had with The Black Pinup, Angelique Noire in Long Beach, CA. A friend of mine hooked us up with someone that had a sail boat we were able to take out on the water [...we went right under the bridge where they filmed the "kick" scene in Inception].

Angelique is a professional model that's done campaigns for GUESS and many of the biggest fashion brands in the US. I remember a friend of mine asking me prior to the shoot if I was nervous about photographing a model who's face has been on jumbo ads in Times Square, NYC [...I wasn't, until he asked me that]. Our time was well spent, and it was a laid back couple of hours shooting in the sun on the waters of LBC.

Make-up, hair and wardrobe all by Angelique Noire. All camera info below.

Thanks for viewing and consideration!

Super cool man. Also, I totally assumed you were a Canon shooter, Nikon like me, whaaaa??!!??

Thanks @dexter-k! Nikon my entire life! That's what my mentor Jim Gavenus used and I just followed suit. Hey, @pfunk tells me you're in Minneapolis as well!?

That's awesome @kommienezuspadt, I've been shooting Nikon for about ten years now, before that was Pentax and Minlota film. Not sure where @pfunk heard that, I'm actually in Vancouver Canada, pretty far from Minneapolis hahaha :p We are relocating to Barcelona in about eight months though.

My mistake @dexter-k and @pfunk. I'm sick and my son didn't have school today, so this whole afternoon has been a blur. I think @pfunk was just saying I need to follow your work.

Great shot! Beautiful colours, Gold, brown & blue. Beautiful woman.

Thanks so much @katharsisdrill! One of the biggest advantages to photographing in natural or available light, is when you work with models of color. Dark, or black skin looks amazing without any artificial lighting.
