Not sure how this photo challenge thing works but I would like to share a pic of an amazing species of birds.

In Northern Australia we have a bird called the Bush Stone Curlew. They are very similar to the American Roadrunner from the famous Cartoon.

Well, we have a couple that live in our front yard.

They are mostly a flightless bird and also mainly nocturnal and spend the nights roaming the local neighbourhood looking for food. You can hear them at night by the load creepy wailing sound they make. We call them the Banshee Birds.

During the day they just sit around and keep a low profile. They are very well camouflaged and blend into most backgrounds easily, so it is very difficult to see them. Another protection mechanism they have is freezing instantly in whatever pose they are in to avoid detection. Occasionally, if disturbed they will raise their wings and rush directly at you screaming loudly.

So enough about the birds. I took a photo of them recently in the front garden.

My question is- How many birds can you see in the photo?

I thought there was 3 but now you have said 5, i ...still...only...see....3.lol

So did you figure out why you had no comments and still have votes ? and oh.why you got big bucks on the first post but narrrrda on the rest. ? but more votes.

Ok, here's the story.
Mum and Dad had 2 babies who grew up to be teenagers and used to live in our front yard.
Then one of the teenagers just disappeared (probably killed by a cat or car??)
Next thing, 2 more new babies appeared.

So in the picture you can see Mum standing in the foreground.
Dad is to her left sitting down.
Slightly to the right, behind and above Mum's head, you can see the teenager's head between the 2 trees.
Directly behind Mum's legs you can see little baby #1.
To the right of baby #1 you can see baby #2.

How cool is that!!

Not really, I'm still trying to get my head around how the whole votes, comments & payments thing works?

Bloody hell! I just looked at the picture again and realised it's not the one Ithought it was, so in fact, the answer for the correct number has been adjusted accordingly. How many did you see??

There's two there, but both are hard to see.

Yep, very well camouflaged but sorry, not correct.

I'll leave it up for a few days and see how many people get it right?

I see 2, maybe 3. We have heaps of these around our place in Brisbane

Yeah, there's a lot down the Eastern Coast. You'll have to look much closer to get the correct number.

Actually, the correct answer is 5. See if you can spot them?
