The perfect road for a cycle ride, in the hidden backwaters of Connecticut.
This has to be one of the best rides I have ever taken, on a smooth blacktop around a lake. I was drunk on the powerful natural display that unfolded before my eyes. To mark their final days the leaves burn bright, hurling captured sunlight back into the world, embarrassing the woods with their beauty and making the hills blush a scarlet-golden hue. As I sweep past, the leaves flutter gently down on the road, dancing in my wake before finally settling to decorate the tarmac with potent drops of colour.
