Steemit Sandwich Contest Week 26 - Smoky Barbequed Chicken Wrap

My entry for @jaybird's Steemit Sandwich Contest Week 26 - Smoky Barbequed Chicken Wrap or as we would call it in South Africa - Braaied Chicken Wrap.
Really did not think this Mama would make it to SSC this week, as she & Papa B drove up to Johannesburg for the fledgling and girlfriend's birthday party, but they came to the sandwich party and helped their Mama, who has become quite addicted to the contest known as SSC.

Ingredients:
Store bought Wraps, Half a Red Onion-sliced, Leftover Barbequed Chicken-sliced or pulled, Salad made with Mixed Greens, Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumber & Feta Cheese, Soy Sauce, Mayonnaise.

The sausage in photo is called 'Boerewors', a traditional nutmeg & coriander spiced sausage, a must-have at any South African Braai (Barbeque). We made one wrap with that, but was gobbled up before we could take a pic!

The fledgling @deanoza helped prepare the Chicken fillling - Onions fried in a little Olive Oil.

Note the T-Shirt, one of the reasons @deanoza stopped Steeming!
Printed by the girlfriend's online gifting store
Pretty Nifty.

Next step was to add the sliced or pulled Chicken, Soy Sauce and Mayonnaise.

Now for the assembly - Pan-fry the Wraps on both sides in a little Olive Oil to heat up.

Spoon the Salad & Chicken filling on one side of the Wrap.

Fold wrap over and enjoy!
The smoky flavour of the chicken is beautifully off-set by the healthy crisp salad!

Yummy!
Since my husband discovering Schwarma on a business trip to Israel we've been eating a whole lot of wraps and Hummus now goes on everything 😄.
It actually goes really well on a boerrie rol, adding a nice creamy note.

Have you also found the Woolies wraps to be really gross? I prefer the Anat wraps or otherwise any thing from Checkers or Pnp. Woolies wraps taste so chemical and all their breads have the same undercooked sour taste. You would think it would be hard to mess up something made from flour and oil! lol.

I'll go have a look at her shop. Thanks for adding the link 🙂

Thank you the other Lizelle ;) Unusual for Woolies hey, we bought these at a Superspar, not sure about the brand but they were really nice, not rubbery at all! These days good old Woolies lets us down at times!
Pretty Nifty is launching in about a week so website not up & running yet (I advertised too soon in fact), appreciate your interest, awesome gifting concept where she offers a 'build a box' where you add your own contents, really nice quality products! Please take a peak in a week or so, Andi is a perfectionist so will not launch until all her ducks are in an absolute perfect row :)

Looks yummy and love @deanoza's shirt :D

It was yummy indeed @therneau & all inspired by Andi, same with the T-Shirt :)

I am just back from town and i see this on my screen! plus I want Boerewors so badly! glass of red going with that @lizelle ?

A glass of red wine for sure @intrepidsurfer:) This was especially good Boerewors, the day after in fact so no longer juicy like it should be when it comes off the fire. Sorry about rubbing it in & making you more hungry :) You were busy this week, well done & good luck!

Thank you for your good wishes. No worries about rubbing it in. I just remember camping in the bush, camp set up and the braai is on.

There's a lot going on in this post, from sandwiches to family events to advertisements lol. SSC is indeed getting more and more interesting haha..

Beautifully done this week, glad you were able to make it.

BTW that Boerewors', a traditional nutmeg & coriander spiced sausage sounds great! Interesting tastes I imagine!

Hahaha @jaybird, hope you don't penalise me for advertising ;) It was a real family affair, the son was roped in by the girlfriend who provided the inspiration & did the photography so we all had fun, the best part was the eating thereafter, the smoky flavour of the chicken mixed with the sauces was divine.
Hope you get to taste a good Boerewors one day.
Thanks for this real fun platform, also helping a minnow (or rather plankton which busy.org categorizes me) grow :):)

Sneaky Ninja Attack! You have been defended with a 2.40% vote... I was summoned by @lizelle! I have done their bidding and now I will vanish...Whoosh
