One thing I love in decentralization is the fact that everyone's bits comes to form the whole. Interesting to find out about steemitstage.com. I have another word for my "always complaining" fellows anytime there seems to be a ddos attack.

Hi @surpassinggoogle, Though a lots of efforts are being done by the Steemit management and Witnesses in particular to make it a better platform. This is all appreciable. Your post is another proof of how much good work you're doing . This is the positive side of the picture.

The negative side is Steemit site is going down countless times in a single day. I brought a at least 8-10 new users to join Steemit. Unfortunately, I brought them to Steemit in the same week. So, all the efforts that I had done ended in smoke.

It's true that there are alternate solutions like busy.org, esteem, ChainBB and now this Steemitstage. But this does not solve the problem because the main site is Steemit. Users already have to manage posting key, active key and a master password for Steemit to avoid any attack on their account by some hacker. When we tell the new users to take this alternate route, they get frustrated. If this had not been the case, why are Steemit posts very low in number during this week?

Hello Terry. I remember to use busy.org whenever the user interface (UI), steemit.com is down for whatever reason, maybe due to another DDos attack. I am responding to this post of yours from busy.org. I have no problem using the slider button. So, it works well for me, although the user needs to apply some skills of patience to be able to manage the slider button. Thank you very much for loving my mama and sending 25 SBD for her birthday. We really appreciate it. My mum sends her prayers and love to you. Cheers.

never? what's going on then? just slow?
I've had the weirdest experience last night - I posted, it appeared on the "new" section and then I copied the URL but when I refreshed and sent it in the chat channel it looked weird and had nothing on it except for the link
what could be the problem?
thumbnails on some posts are also not showing up
comments and ups are loading but takes time and sometimes had to cast them several times .. is it just getting sluggish when it says gateway 503 or something like that?
sorry to ask a lot .. but I'm not the only one asking these questions

Thanks for this revelation. I was even planning to make a post about busy.org before I stumbled upon this one, which has www.steemitstage.com in addition to what I originally had in mind to communicate my fans about. This post is most appreciated because it would help ease the nerves of some members who are ill informed and who don't know that there is a wide difference between steemit.com and steem blockchain.

Steemit.com is only a front-end built upon steem blockchain. Steem does not depend on Steemit.com as alternative front-ends can as well be used to access steem blockchain just like busy.org, chainbb.com and the latest revelation from you.

I think this fact should be communicated to people during sign up stage to avoid unnecessary panics whenever steemit.com is down for one reason or the other.

Yes. Ofcourse, do the post about busy. I am testing the new version of busy currently and it will be great. You can talk to @fabien if you want to test it. And yes that difference you mention is even the sole info steemians need to tap into success, vision etc. Many get lost in only the blogging

So, I didn't bother to try it, one cannot be too careful :)
But seeing you approve it, I'll give it a try even though I usually use busy.org to access it as I kinda likes its GUI. Great to see another alternative. Keep steeming.

I usually copy my comments before clicking post, nothing is as frustrating as making a nice comment and see it disappear after clicking post with no way to recover it but by typing it again. Happened to me thrice or so then I learned the hard way. So, I now copy before posting, if it disappears, I'll just paste and try again. It is a bother, but I guess it's just for the time being. Thanks.

I tried posting from busy.org yesterday for the first time. There's further development like you pointed out but seems really promising. I love the "draft". I can now scribble ideas as they come, then improve later as inspiration come.

Will try the staging steemitstage.com later. I was actually able to vote with the slider in busy though, they must have added that recently.

I know I haven't been condescending directly, but thought it, and that is just as bad. Appreciate the reminder, and the many forgiveness, not just from you but the entire platform.

The busy i refer to is a new one being tested. i made an error. i was using the one when i was doing this post. busy has always exist, so i believe the old one has the slider. If you want to test to new one, you can contact their CEO @fabien. You have done nothing wrong. Not all info is bare.

Ah yes, saw that from their channel. I tried logging in but haven't really explored it like the old one. They also do not want to share the URL publicly so I guess it is a privilege to try it out, or is it because of limitations like bandwidth? Will try that one too. Hi, I think there's a typo towards the end -- you say to type in "steemgig" but the image further above shows your witness node to be "steemgigs", plural at the end.

I checked both users, and "steemgig" is only rep 25 and hasn't done much, so I think you may want to add an "s" to the sixth word from the end.

If I'm seeing this wrong, please let me know what's right? Thanks!

Actually i used busy.org Whenever Steemit is down and Btw i really love that slider option on that because on steemit we require to get above 500 SP for that And thats The Good Thing Because sometimes we need to give a little bit downvote to the spammers which are gradually increasing day by day and its necessary to downvote them a little and i think 100% would be BAD i think it bad personally even Downvote is not good but i do only on them to whom i have proof and i also give them proofs !

So it would be good if they add slider on steemit.com even for little sp

Is like sandbox for steemit devs, to help them with optimization of steemit.com. The interface is practically just like steemit.com, however, tests are ran or implemented on there first; tested by us and feedback from our use, is used by steem devs to make optimizations before an actual implementation on steemit.com.

Wow that soo similiar to steemit man :O Is that really secure i mean i am to curious to give passwords to other sites because of large number of phishing going on BTW thats also need to be solved !
Phishing and hacking passwords need to be solved there must be an option to stop them because they have thousands of id's they can snatch all those minnows who have money but dont know how to get secure account !

It is safe, you can read more on the links underneath my posy by @steemitblog and @steemitdev. but ofcourse, in every case look at spelling closely and https. There are interfaces that allow smaller sp sliders. i cant remember these sites though. Overall, you will get to 500 soon.

The post is simply talking about steemit.com that is currently misbehaving. We get error 504 and even page cannot be displayed.

So, he is advising that we use this other site which is for steemit development department. They actually uses this other site (https://steemitstage.com/) for test run when they want to upgrade or add other features to steemit site.

He also, said they are both the same site with our normal interface. You can also use https://busy.org

I am not tech saavy either. If steemit is working well for you currently. No problem but if you can't open steemit, you can use https://steemitstage.com on your browser alternative but make sure to check any site before you put in your information so people dont steal your password. https://steemitstage.com is safe and ofcourse steemit.com is the ultimate. but if you see any variation like the last one that was used to steal peoples information, dont put in your password. normally for posting on steemit, you dont need you password, so it is better to use your posting key. posting key is findable in your wallet, under permissions. For now, no need to hurry, just pace it. Overtime, you will learn. It is gradual. So what to do now? Nothing!

Once you miss, one may never get entry again. i was here when steem was 7 cents. I missed it.. When it was 15, i spoke to infovore at the time, with hopes that it will go to 10 cents, the next day, it went to 35 cents then from there to 2.35. now it is back at one and sbd also went to more than 2 usd. steem has mechasisms in it, giving it some major stability, Apart from the external inflence from external market, many things are in place, like powerups etc, so things dont crash. plus smart media token can create magic

Users already have to manage posting key, active key and a master password for Steemit to avoid any attack on their account by some hacker. When we tell the new users to take this alternate route, they get frustrated. If this had not been the case, why are Steemit posts very low in number during this week?

I have a slider but only a 12 cent vote at max. I vote posts at 100% and comments at 65% - so three comments equals two regular votes. I upvote the comments on my posts so I need those. I also keep my power up above 85%.

I think a slider for a little minnow is not necessary and dilutes our little minnow pressence. My 12 cent vote gets me great rewards and visibility and I feel proud of it.

It's thanks to you I have it. You helped my with STEEM to get my first leasing sp delegation. Now I pay 30 steem each month for about 1100 sp and I will continue or even increase a bit. It's made a huge difference to my results and I cannot thank you enough for helping me :)

These days I'm watching the upvotes I'm getting and trying to help those who are voting with only 50 sp, only 20% power AND 20% on the slider! I do not know how they get in this predicament, but I'm trying to explain that an upvote worth -0- is not doing anyone any good. I'm sure they think they are doing the right thing but I think they will drop out when they end up with no rewards for all this scurrying around. I helped one person who was voting about 60 times a day and getting maybe 5 curation rewards worth .005 for all that effort! Most of the votes got absolutely nothing.
