Rafael "el pollo" Brito

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, on November 14, 1971.
Best known for his artistic nickname "El Pollo Brito", he is a Venezuelan singer-songwriter and animator.1 His main instrument is the Venezuelan Cuatro, which mixes Afro-Venezuelan folk rhythms with pop rhythms.

He began his musical studies at the Miranda National Youth Orchestra, where he learned to play the Oboe. He studied Four, Mandolin and Guitar with the Estudiantina San José Obrero. He continued his academic training at the Juan José Landaeta National Conservatory and the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music.

He was an instrumentalist in the Saúl Vera Ensemble, Pabellón sin balustrade, Grupo Arcano and with Paul Desenne. He has done songs for the Venezuelan soap operas Arroz con leche and Los misterios del amor. He was the conductor, cuatro player and vocalist of La Trova Gaitera, Sabor en Gaita, Nazarenos de la Gaita, Tenth Gaitera, Grupo Ziruma, Maragaita, Los Morillo, Guasinca Zuliana, Todos Estrellas and Happy Gaita.

He has made several musical productions such as: Una Casita Bella Para Ti, Venezolano Sings, Boleros en Vivo, De Repente with C4 Trio, Tribute to Tito Rodríguez, Pa' Tío Simón and Manzanero.
He is considered one of the most important exponents of Venezuelan musical culture, defender and constant promoter of national talent. Outside the country, he has managed to take his music to countries such as Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, Peru, Guatemala, Chile, Honduras, Cuba, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Spain, Panama, USA, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland , Hong Kong and Japan.

In 2014 he won the Pepsi Music award; as Artist of the year, Disco of the year, Venezuelan vocal album, Bagpipe song of the year, Venezuelan vocal song, Collaboration artist.
He also won the Latin Grammy Best recording with the album "Suddenly".

He has collaborated with artists such as: Oscar de Leon, Eddy Marcano, Gilberto Sata Rosa, Chucho Valdez, Ilan Chester, Yorano, Cecilia Todd, Simon Diaz, Betulio Medina, among other artists.

He is the father of 6 children who are Giselle, Rafael, Andrés, Adrián, Ricardo and Micaela.
