This is a short but sweet deadpost that sums up a really important point that I think we often leave out of our understanding of the world. It had a few nice comments but I was hoping it would reach more people. I may write a more in depth post on the topic if I feel the need to do so in the future
Whenever I find myself dwelling on the "negative" I try to step outside of my own perspectives. I ask myself what a rock or a tree would think of this. "Nothing" you might think, and that's the point. They wouldn't feel the need to define it, they just are. There is no reason we can't be the same, or at least imagine from that perspective. From that perspective we can see all occurrences as equally beautiful and inspiring. When we see those occurrences as beautiful, we are able to move around them much more easily.
Our ideas of good and bad come from society, from religion and especially from our self interests. They come from a limited perspective and are full of bias. By being able to detach from them, we develop a fluidity about us. We can move more effortlessly through whatever is thrown at us.
This doesn't mean we should stop defining things as good or bad. In fact, I would argue that defining things as good and bad is one of our jobs here in life, to define what kind of world we want to live in and what kind of people we want to be. But we find that harmony will lead us to greater pleasure then dissonance, and so to be able to remove ourself from our own perspective becomes a valuable tool for finding that harmony in a chaotic world.
I still define what I want to define as good or bad, but I recognize that my views are limited, and when I get stuck in them, I let go for a while to recollect and find that harmony in between the cracks of my daily life, as it exists everywhere around us if we are willing to see it.
Anyway, have a great day.

As conditioned humans we often confuse judgment with sorting.
I think it is our task to sort rather than to judge into good and bad as they are - as you point out conditioned ways of perception.
An easy example would be a luxurious dinner vs. a pile of shit. Neither one is good nor bad, but both have their place in the order of things. It's when we confuse their place that we get tangled up in "good" and "bad" - where all that is needed is properly sorting them into their right place.
Without a pile of shit nothing would grow to eventually become the basis for a luxurious dinner. And without a luxurious dinner... you get the point <3
Everything has its place within the totality of "things"

That’s a nice way to put it.
I think judgement is fine but with a bit of a different connotation, with a recognition that it’s only good or bad because we or others have deemed it so. Sorting may be s good word to describe this.
:-)

Man, this nobidbot tag seems to be doing pretty well.
I largely agree with this. I always saw good and bad as concepts that are unique to each individual. It is helpful for us to put things into those slots but, as you point out, one's view of things is not the only view.

Hopefully #steemitzombies can get a boost from the #nobidbot as well.
I try to focus on the the fact that we only have a human perspective because there is a larger context than my perspective and someone else’s. So much context we can’t comprehend.

So much wisdom in this. Its amazing how most people don't get that views are limited and are not something you get stuck with.
Good job on the zombie steempocalypse!!

Well people do get stuck with them because they think that’s just how it is.

When the lion eats the zebra, that's good for the lion but bad for the zebra — good and bad can be somewhat ambiguous terms.
I'm glad to see more and more of the #nobidbot tag around the place. I hope it becomes a serious movement.
Bright Blessings!

Ah, yes, but the zebra should realise that such is life - all zebras must die :) Even death in itself is neither good or bad.

It seems to be becoming just that.
I believe we can see things two ways at the same time, recognize our own self interests while also appreciating the ambiguity of all things from outside our perspective.

Hamlet had it going on, but didn't get him anywhere - but he wasn't as enlightened as you, clearly :) - it's so true though. I always think of negative thinking as fine unless you are repeating it over and over and over, wearing a groove into your brain that's gonna be really hard to putty up later. What kind of groove do we want in our brains? That's what we need to work on.
Nice little deadpost there, a sweet little musing on how harmony is achievable if we decide what we're focussing on. :)

Well, technically no thinking is negative, there is only contradictory thoughts, but for convenience's sake I also call it negative. I don't really want to think any thoughts I see as negative but when they pop up they need to be acknowledged and not thrown under the rug like some new agers like to do. It's kind of like a massage, gotta work out the knots, and it hurts sometimes but it always feels better afterwards.
We are all enlightened! :-D except for Hamlet, who knows exactly what to do and doesn't do it.

It's impossible NOT to think - it's what the human brain does. Definitely shouldn't be throwing it under the rug - i think there's a big movement now towards self compassion because it's worse when we think negative thoughts and beat ourselves up over it. Much better to acknowledge, as you say.
