Trends Of Marketing...


Long time ago, various means were used to create the awareness of the general public about some new products in which some proved to be effective while others were not as effective as they were expected to be due to their resulting effects on the products being advertised/promoted. One of the effective methods used for product promotion was a form of celebrity branding called royal endorsements, first of its type in the 1760s. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, trade cards, which was another form of product marketing/advertising/promotion where the products were being featured by a celebrity such as athletes, sports stars, were presented. Trade cards heavily contributed to the promotion of products in the categories of medicines, tobacco, sewing, household, food etc.

Over the years, there came a change in this trend as companies and firms opted for celebrity endorsement where products are being promoted via celebrities. Such could be seen when Michael Jordan, a basketball player, was made the brand ambassador of Nike's sports industry. Not only that, celebrities in the entertainment industry also play a very significant role in products promotion where they are being paid for their services, it is now taken to a higher level. The use of celebrity ambassadors for products promotion has contributed immensely to the sales of some products as it is evident in this century. These sets of people can also be called Celebrity Influencers.

Gone are those days where only individuals made famous or notable via their activities in a particular field(musics, sports etc) were referred to as Celebrities. In todays' world through the power of Social Networking Service, SNS, via mobile devices, individuals can interact with large numbers of people and subsequently influencing their characters, these people are called Social Influencers. They could also be referred to as Hypemen or Marketing agents and they utilize the power of Social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc to attract the attention of people online to products, this is usually referred to as sponsored ads.

Being a Social Influencer could be easy depending on how such individual takes it, the strategy used to gain the targeted followers based on one's niche and how consistent one is. What if all these are in place, as a social influencer how do you monetize it? How do you get connected to those in dire need of your service?

INTRODUCING PATRON


PATRONis a highly reliable platform based on the blockchain technology where both Sponsors such as Companies/Brands, and Hosts, that is Influencers, are brought into a close interaction with the sole aim of product marketing, promotion or advertising to the potential Users (Influencers' fans or followers).

Here, influencers' SNS delivery frame is tokenized. Since it is a based on the blockchain technology, there is no need for the service of a third-party escrow to connect the three users. Additionally, all transactions between members within the ecosystem will be immutably recorded.

It supports Influencers' markets and makes provisions for influencers' sharing economy. Influencers and SNS users around the globe are also permitted to post, discover and book social media sharing economy information on the internet and mobile tablet. Patron stands with the new sharing economy as presented by AirBnB and Uber.

It is quite unfortunate that the services of a number of influencers are not being employed by most Sponsors (Companies) due to the fact that they are not sure of how effective their marketing campaign is. However, due to the reliable nature of patron and the strategies set out to assess these influencers by them, Sponsors can be cleared of their worries and are able hit the right influencers.

  • Patron shares the influencer's SNS delivery frame at the spot and payment is made every time
  • Shares an Influencer exclusively for several months; monthly payment
  • Acquires favorite influencers and monopolize; annual contract.

Three different User-types are recognized by Patron, which are:

The Hosts or Influencers
The Guests or Sponsors
The Fans or Followers

The Host or Influencers

Influencers could actually fetch themselves a stable income by setting up deals/contracts with sponsors. The deal could be a short or long term based and it makes the infuencer a brand ambassador for the sponsor within that period of time. However, there could be renew of contract after the end of the previous ones. In case of specific contract demands, Influencers can create the awareness of their services to sponsors.

Influencers are ranked based on their followings and their values are being made public to sponsors to know who is the best for their products promotion. Patron can evaluate the worth of influencers in the followings ways:

  • Dissemination ability/Reachability – This is probably the number of organic followers has an influencer. Most influencers usually have a reasonable number of followers to which a product can be marketed.

  • Level of engagement – A reasonable number of followers is not enough to evaluate the worth of an influencer but how good he/she is engaged with them. The ability to carry people along is an important factor that determines how good such influencer is and subsequently his/her worth.

  • Credibility – This is based on the reviews from the influencer followers or even from the previous sponsors.

Influencers (Host) employed by sponsors can decide on the contract modalities. This may involve the influencer promoting only the sponsor product during the contract duration or promote other products. The influencer panel on the Patron platform will include influencer profile with their own services and costs.

Guests or Sponsors

Sponsors/Guests can either be companies or brands in search for Influencers to promote their products for a specific timeframe depending on the duration of contract or deal made with such influencers. Moreover, they could be assured of what the outcome would be within the timeframe. The sponsor page will include sponsor profile, influencer list with filters and booking page. Via a message facility provided, sponsors are able to send questions and make inquiries. Just like Influencers are evaluated, Sponsors are basically screened on two different criteria:

  • The company/agency involved
  • The financial capability of the sponsor

Benefits Of The Patron Platform


  • Stable revenues can be secured by influencers since Job can be gotten for a desired period of time
  • Influencers are permitted to scout for buyer candidates with a high-price contract
  • Since it is a decentralized system, everyone remains anonymous making it a suitable platform for those who cherish their privacy

  • Because the worth of every influencer is published based on some certain criteria, sponsors can easily select which influencer can promote their products
  • It is cost-effective for sponsors since less research needs to be done
  • More than one demographic can be targeted by sponsors
  • It is beneficial to followers in a way such that better/quality contents will be available to them
  • Based on sponsors influencers have worked for in a previous time and their followers, they can build their income/brand.
  • The schedule of influencers can be checked through the calendar function
  • The system is basically transparent in its operation
  • Information can reach as many people as possible which could contribute to the sales of the sponsors either directly or indirectly
  • Patrons employs the use of smart contract, thus eliminating a third party which usually charges high. This increases the income for infuencers and lowers fees for clients.

Use Case


Jon, who stays in Canada has a reasonable number of followers on social media which is not really as much as most celebrity have. He centres his contents on fitness as he is engaged in various exercises and loves educating his followers about it. He then takes a step ahead to make money from what he is doing since he has a very specific demographic.

Rale et Co sell/produce exercise/fitness kits and need to market their products which will be based on getting new customers to patronize them. Although they have tried using social media but to no avail since the desired result wasn't achieved. After few trials, they came to realize that celebrity influencers charges high and most times, not effective. In the quest of looking for better means, they came across Patron with its unique services it offer.

Patron created a connection between Rale et Co and Jon. Although, Jon has just 100,000 users in which 95% are interested in what he does. After some few days, Rale et Co recorded an increase in sales which was not recorded with the celebrity.

Patron is a very good initiative and first of its kind with a far better way of improving sales via proper advertisements/marketing/promotion compared to the . It is of great benefit to its three users, that is sponsors, influencers and fans. The benefits it offers are numerous! Patron has come to stay!
