A little bit of perspective - Google Trends of Steemit - We've gained momentum after all!!

Here`s a chart from Google Trends about the interest over the last 5 years of Steemit (the face of steem we could say). It has kept my interest the uptrend we have started since September. It seems the #NewSteem has done the effect, and we've reached levels of the pre-bubble of 2017/2018.

Buuut....

While I see an uptrend of interest about steemit, I don't see the numbers of active users rising, in fact they are lower each week. What an interesting divergence!!!

What do you think it's happening here?

Also interesting to see which parts of the world are most interested:google trends steemit2.PNG

The list is clear: South Korea and Venezuela.

The next one is even more clear (this one is about the interest by region of the last 12 months!!).

Why are the South Koreans so interested in steem? Why there's so much difference of interest by regions?

Some food for thought
Have a nice day :)

Interesting... that could explain the volume spikes on Korean exchanges

Yeah, totally

This is very interesting because I’m Korean and I live in South Korea and Koreans don’t use google for their search engine. I wonder how they are collecting this result. Besides I don’t see any movements among Koreans on the awareness of steemit.

More importantly, they don’t type in in English but in Korean. (Instead of “steemit” they would type in “스팀잇”)

This is how it’s like in their local search engine.

Thanks for the point of view!! Yes, I don't really know how they are collecting the information. It just doesn't make sense at all.

I will also write about this in Korean community in Korean to see if anyone can give feedback.

So now I'm interested. Why is that you use a different search engine?

I don't know, maybe the tendency is more local oriented. "Naver" dominated the search engine market in South Korea.

Despite all that, I think there is real interest in Korea, at least you guys for some time have been having the highest spikes of volume in exchanges.

Nowadays, the atmosphere here in Korea is entirely the opposite. People have very negative opinion towards Crypto in general. Maybe this is a great buying signal I guess.

I don't see the numbers of active users rising, in fact they are lower each week.

How do you calculate this? Is there any site out there that is tracking the number of accounts, posts/comments, activity, etc?

I keep looking for trends, but I'm not finding them, and I don't have time to build the scripts to tease out the answers right now.

Well, there is stateofthedapps.com, it shows activity based on the number of accounts that have participated in an smart contract. Don't know if this could really be considered real activity, but it can detect trends.

Awesome, thanks

I am outside of google, I use duckduckgo; so my numbers are not included here.

That said, I have seen a lack of postings, and comments here too. Many of the accounts from the Third World, who had such wonderful pictures; are gone now! This was one of the reasons I got on steemit.

Maybe the Koreans are looking for another bitcoin?

Keep on posting, that is the backbone of any blockchain!

hahahah!! It would be nice for steem be a diamond yet to be finished. Thanks for the support!

I keep hoping that steemit will recover from the hardforks, and begin growing again. Limiting flagging and bots would help too.
