The big questions are does monetizing social media work? Do investors outside of steem think this is a viable concept? Does our very own steem ecosystem think this experiment can work? Do we even have consensus on what our identity is?

The competition is chomping at the bit one of the greatest minds in blockchain and hype left steem and seems to have their sights on carving out a platform with a more defined purpose.

One of tarazkp's recent posts comments section got me a bit fired up. I don't know if the naysayers are realists or just love scorned steemians? There is clearly plenty of division here and now we are working towards tribalism which isn't exactly a progressive or evolved notion.
It's also abundantly clear many people don't grasp what delegation is and like to compare apples (Dlie) & oranges (plankton) that can easily be monitored. NOT that they need to be, in a system that has enough checks and balances. Or don't we have that? People so butt hurt over oversight and policing of a delegation that hasn't even happened leads me to believe there's more than enough marshalls in this one pony town.
There are times here when I just have to shake my damn head and realise steem is different things to different people and I'm grateful there are other options on the horizon.

The topics and appropriate nomenclature are so telling here, as is mentions of historical figures that are now steem ghosts or maybe pirates that control most of the witnesses.
