One of my favorite cryptoprojects is without a doubt Vechain. It is a very solid project, with great partnerships, and a real-life usage case. That is why I decided to buy VEN tokens (that was the name back then) in 2017. I think the average price of a token back then was $4 per token.
Since then a lot of has happened. The VEN token was changed to Vet, and for every VEN token you owned, you received 100 VET tokens. As a result, the token price also changed. But, since I bought my tokens in 2017, the token price has just dropped and dropped, and in March 2020, you could buy one VET token for the price of 0,002 USD. If you multiply it with 100, the price would still be $0,2 per token, which is a 20x drop compared to the price I paid for it.
But, for some reason, I have never sold those tokens I bought originally, and that is what makes it so incredibly nice to see that the VET token is approaching $0,04, which makes it break even with my original price. Should I sell it now, just to reach break even? Not a chance in the world!
I bought it because of a conviction!
That is what I like about investments like this. I bought it because I am convinced that it is a brilliant project, with awesome use-case, and with real life partners. This is deemed to moon, one day or another. As a result, I am not going to sell those tokens, but I am going to hold onto them. It might drop in price again, but in the end, it is going to succeed!
That is why I only invest long-time in projects that I truly believe in. I have lost much money buying tokens that I don't believe in, and as the price drops, I sell them at terrible loss... simply because I know it is a stupid project, and that is might actually leave the cryptosphere for good... so I sell, even with loss!
But, that has not been the case with Vechain, and I am really happy about hodling those tokens!
Keep this in mind in times like this!
I believe this is important to keep in mind during bullish times like this. You can purchase stupid tokens for short-term profit, but make sure to get rid of them if you don't really trust the team, nor have faith in the project itself. Nothing feels worse than having a portfolio packed with crappy coins that you don't believe in or trust on a long perspective!
But, which coins are your favorite coins nowadays? I would love to hear some suggestions and shillings from all of you! For some reason, I also have a feeling that Polkadot might be such a long-time runner, maybe Hedera Hashgraph, and of course, Ethereum! Which are your favorites?
Found myself in the same situation as you. After price fell to the bottom of the earth I doubled down. Still not sure if I've broken even but I'm getting pretty close.

Did you invest in VEN back in the days as well? If you bought the bottom, then that investment is up at least 10x, so I guess you should get close to breaking even at least looking at the full investment! Anyway, a fantastic feeling. Now it just needs to pump on! :)

Yes, I couldn't tell you when I first acquired it as it was bought on binance and since then I had to close my account being in the US so I have no record but I am getting close to even as the price climbs.
