Creeping Ooze - If anybody can clarify my doubt

Hello all steemmonster lover,
I was going through the abilities of Creeping Ooze. I was not able to understand one thing.
Upto level 2 the Creeping Ooze doesn't has the attack ability but it can slowdown the enemies and the life is also 2.
But at level 3 the speed up by one so total two and still it does not have attack ability at this level.

When he does not have attach ability then but is the purpose of speed?

Please of anybody can explain.
