The above video was a live stream from earlier today in which @clove71 explores several matches in a Steem Monsters (aka Splinterlands) tournament. There are some pretty epic battles! It's great to watch these to get ideas on strategies as well as how to use abilities that aren't common in the lower level cards.
During the live stream @clove71 was very generous (as usual!) and was offering free booster packs, cards and starter kits to the viewers. I was lucky enough to get the first booster pack:
My luck didn't end there. When I opened the pack I got a few common cards (much appreciated and needed) but also turned over a Zintar Mortalis Death splinter summoner! In case you are new to Splinterlands, the summoners form the primary bottleneck in this game. You can level up your monster army as high as you want but they will only be usable at the level your summoner is capable of handling. Combining doubles of the same card is how you level them up. This put me at the point where I was able to bring my Death summoner up to the next level.
I also pulled a Gold Foil edition Spineback Wolf. The gold foil edition of any card is a lot more difficult to find than the standard edition of that card. In this case the standard common-grade Spineback Wolf has 20,002 cards in circulation right now. Compare this to only 973 gold foil edition Spineback Wolf cards in circulation. The standard edition card is over 20x more common than the gold foil edition of this particular card. A very nice find indeed! Thanks again to @clove71!
