DEC is almost here and bring much needed improvements to the Splinterlands

Yes, the Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) are almost released and there is already a heap of information about them on the latest Steem Monsters blog post.

Now there's so much to take in and I'll need a little more time to break it all down, but essentially it looks like you can earn DEC from playing and winning games, or by BURNING unwanted cards and transferring them into DEC.

Of course you'll need something to buy with all that DEC so you can buy potions that improve drop rates, cosmetic skins or even new cards from a new mini set that will be made available.

I guess I'm more interested in the economy of the game and how the DEC inflation rate changes the value of the cards. But I'll go more in depth on that later, once it's fully released.

On a plus side Alpha and Gold cards will help you to earn more DEC, so that is a great idea to make those rarer cards more relevant again.
