Just an idea: You could for every tournament do annoncement here 8 days ago with post and tell that prices will be set as percentage of post payout.
F.E. Winner 50%, second 30%, third 20% of the post payout - would be this an idea.
Everybody who want to win a price could just pump them up with his upvote to your post.

OK the question is if we could attract some whales maybe.
Another thought from me would be to give only 80% or 90% for the first three prices away and with the remaining 10% or 20% f.e. to buy Steemonterscards or Booster packs and give them out randomized to the participants who get no price. I think, that it would attract more people if they had chance to win something. I also read in discord at least from one that he won nothing and I think some people just don't want to take part because they think that they have no chance to win something.

We can always extend the amount of places to satisfy participants. Whales are a little picky on what they support. Of course if they do, your idea works there :)
