The SEEDGerminator crowdfunding campaign for Splinterlands (aka Steem Monsters) is going LIVE in less than two hours! We wanted to kick things up a notch by releasing a sneak peak at the stats for the Legendary exclusive promo card - the Red Dragon!
Yes, you're seeing that correctly...this card has TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF ATTACK!
He does both a Magic and Melee attack each round! Since he has a Melee attack he can be played in the Melee Mayhem ruleset and still use his Magic attack to catch your opponent by surprise! He also has a new ability:
Return Fire - When hit with a Ranged attack, this Monster will reflect damage back to the attacker.
Return Fire is basically Magic Reflect but for Ranged attacks, and the same formula for the amount of damage reflected will apply.
We expect this card will be a Monster (pun intended) in certain rulesets, but at 8 mana you'll need to wait for those high mana cap games to really see him shine. Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Do the attacks occur at the same spot in the order stack? For example, does the magic attack always come directly before the melee attack? Or can these two attacks be separated with other monsters of the same speed in between? The former is more like double strike. Also I'm guessing the heal triggers before the first attack?

I highly suggest there be a way to send Steem or SBD to the fundraiser. Given that Steem Monsters exists currently on the Steem ecosystem, we need to be able to easily use our funds here (like funds we'Ve earned playing SM) to contribute more easily. Without having to jump through a bunch of hoops. It's very complicated.

I think this dragon is quite too OP.
Maybe 11 mana cost for him, or nerf his attacks a little. Or another option is to lower his Hp to about 5-7

We will see, and as always if we feel that anything is really breaking the game we will adjust it as necessary, but I actually don't expect this to be too OP. It's supposed to be very powerful, and it definitely is, but only in certain rulesets and it definitely can be countered.

Cool card, even though I don't think it will be too strong - I even doubt it will be as great as some tend to think. It is slow and will easily die to Magic attacks. And even though it reflects Ranged damage, it will quickly die to it without shield. The only format where I think this will be a sick one are high mana "Reverse Speed" games and maybe "Super Sneak" in combination with a Shin-Lo.
