When an incredibly generous Steemer called @goldmatters hosted a steemmonsters tournament with over $300 in prizes I had to take part.
Well being a rookie and not realising the tournament had been reset to a later time, I thought I had messed up the sign up and not managed to get a spot in it.
Well to my amazement, the next day I get notification that I was fortunate enough to have won 5 booster pack as part of the tournament payout.
So I'm going to take my time and reveal the packs 1 at a time and show you if I got anything good.
When I opened the first pack I got a funky flashing sequence that I think the team at steemmonsters has only just started using because when I opened my first lot a few weeks ago, I didn't see this.
This is always the exciting bit as you never know what you're going to get.
I was happy to see another summoner card, this will definitely help me. I need to find another one in order to level up my earth summoner and be able to use higher level earth cards.
And I have my first Rexxie! Costs a lot of manna but definitely packs a punch.

Cool post UK :) A couple fun facts for you... that graphic you now see when opening packs is filling the time it now takes to make the blockchain transaction that happens when you open a pack. Previously, the packs were pre determined which made for a faster opening experience, BUT some people figured out how to see what was in the packs via the blockchain before opening them. As I understand it, now the contents of the packs are determined at the time of opening, which is better for everyone, but it takes a couple seconds thus the delay\graphic .
Also, that summoner you got, Lyanna, is modeled after steemmonsters founder Aggroed ‘s wife! Cool huh?
