In many ways, Telos is a living representation of what many people thought Steem would become. I think Telos and Steem are probably the most similar of blockchain projects in terms of what the desires and values of the real users are. While Steem is still an awesome platform, there were some missteps along the way that have limited its usage.
But the real power of Steem is in the passion and vision of the Steemian community. I would love to see that community discover Telos and see for themselves how aligned the two are. A number of prominent Telos members came from the Steem community. I think there's still a chance to grow this community into what we all want: a positive, working, egalitarian blockchain community that is also a technological leader and has working governance -- AND a large user base. Telos + Steem would make that dream a reality.
I love all the work ackza is doing to bridge the two communities. We have the TLOSP pegged Telos token on Steem. But the really cool step would be to create the STEEM-pegged token on Telos. That way, Steem users who like the Telos platform don't have to give up their Steem to take part in Telos. Instead, we can use the new IBC (interblockchain) tools like Transledger to securely move Steem to Telos and give it value there. We can also port great Steem games to Telos pretty easily.
I sort of feel like Justin Sun is doing a hostile takeover of Steemit. Not hostile to people like Ned, but hostile to a lot of the users who are here because of a set of shared vision that I personally don't see on Tron. (But DO see on Telos.) So a part of me would love to see the real stakeholders in Steemit--the users--vote with their feet and come to a chain that is better aligned with their values. And I think Telos can help make that a lot easier to do by creating tools to let users bring over their Steem to Telos so they don't lose their value.
