Holy Week 2017 Ride- Manila to Pagudpud

in steemph •  7 years ago  (edited)

Posting some picture of our group, Team Manila-APOL's ride. APOL by the way stands for Any Point of Luzon. We do occasional multi-day ride from Manila to different parts of Luzon. We've conquered both north and south. During the holy week of 2017, we decided to go up north. Pagudupud.

The plan was to conquer Pagudpud by pedalling from Manila all the way to the northern most part of Luzon for three days.
The itinerary was:
Day 1: Manila to La Union
Day 2: La Union to Vigan
Day 3: Vigan to Pagudpud

And so we did!

Meetup: 7Eleven Mall of Asia (Seaside Ferry Terminal)

Team APOL L-R: Ric Villar, Doc Kris, Noel Paguia, Jeffrey Pucaputan, Kevin Bustamante (yellow jersey), Rhadz Esrael, Krishna Bicol, Ian How (that's me in Astana jersey), Rhon Reyes, Bryan Santos, Vhash Patrick, Ruben Melendez, Jay Katigbak(far right)
The two other guys were not really part of the group. They were just at the same place but for a different ride. Joined the pic anyways.

It kinda became a ritual to drop by KM 0 at Rizal Park for a group picture to mark the start of our journey.

And the rest is history.

640 km in 3 days? Damn, you got some serious leg power!Especially considering you were biking with quite large tires on! also Great pictures man.

Here in the Philippines (according to my observation), all around bikes are mountain bikes that have tires upwards of 1.95 in size. That's the most common setup.

The slimmer tires are reserved for the purist road bikers, hybrid riders, and the speed specialists.

Thanks man. I forgot to mention that one guy was riding a fatbike and another a full suspension bike during that ride. 😁 Definitely heavier bikes than mine. Also, one guy is 60 years old. Thanks for checking this out man. Appreciate it.

Nice ride bros! See you on the road. Here's my holy week 2017 ride.
