Pixel Art #2 @ Steempixels.com ~Temple

in steempixels •  7 years ago

Hi Guys! Continuing my art journey, I made another pixel art on https://steempixels.com side by side with my previous one as they are inter-related with the second one being a famous landmark here in my country. The first one being Converted flag of Nepal the second one should be quite obvoius Temple of Nepal and yes it is. I tried to copy the most famous Temple of Nepal called Pashupatinath but don't call me deluded as the pixel art looks nothing like it. Please do refer an original image of the temple below the art if you have never seen or heard about it and I will explain few things I know and also place a wiki link if you would like to learn more about the place.

I have been quite busy or perhaps quite addicted with @steempixels and have already thought about another landmark for my next pixel art. So, I now want to present you guys with final pixel artwork which took me about 4.5 hours which is way lesser than my first one.

The main temple is standing highest among others buildings and the total area of the temple complex is 264 hectares with total of 518 temples and monuments and is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1979 A.D. The temple is worshipped by Hindus and main event happens on Maha Shivaratri when about 1.5 million worshippers gather in this area. It is also famous tourist attraction of Nepal and is mostly included in itinerary of tavel packages.

I would like to say that the pixel image not only is the symbol of one temple but most of the temples of Nepal as they as made in similar fashion with different sizes ranging from 1 to 5 storeys tall and the most popular ones are made entirely of wood built ages ago. There is one called Kasthamandap after which the capital city of Nepal is named and is made from a single tree. The size of the temple makes us question the size of the tree that was used to make it. Another called Nyatapola is a five storied temple made all of wood and is quite an extradoniary piece of architecture. Do google the names of the temple and see for yourself as I couldn't find free images to place here.

Finally I would like to show you the development of the pixel art with screenshots.
