What kind of content do we as a community want to see on our blockchain? In truth, I can speak only for myself, but I am confident that there is a broad consensus among the users who are here to create and curate.
Bloggers have a wide range of interests, eloquence, and expertise. English may not be a writer's first language, should they even choose to use it. The American school system has not done a very good job teaching the English language, so native speakers on this side of the pond at least may not have a firm grasp on grammar and composition. I can't even claim expertise or infallibility myself. But I encourage all writers to do their best on every post.
Spam, plagiarism, and abuse tend to received downvotes. Bid bot buyers and vote farmers tend to see their content flagged. Apply some common sense netiquette. We all make mistakes, but we can all try to learn from them in order to be better bloggers, too.
Curators want to support real people. Use a pseudonym if you like, but be authentic. I suggest avoiding the temptation to just post about cryptocurrencies and technology unless you can contribute something unique to the discussion. Cheerleading STEEM is great, but we're not just here to cheer, we're also here to build something worth cheering about. Find your niche and become the best you can be. Use Steemit to hone your prose, poetry, photography, filmmaking, or whatever else it is you want to share.
You don't need to be an all-star from the start, but always strive to create something that will bring you closer to that all-star standing. The blockchain is a long-term archive, so try to forge your link in the chain as if it is meant to last for generations. Who knows? It just might.
I still offer Steem Pope indulgences for any blogging sins from minor typos to major abuses. A modest offering of 1 STEEM is all I ask. These indulgences are guaranteed to be completely inert spiritually, rationally, and morally. Nonetheless, they are available if you need a sense of absolution.
I have already forgiven myself for my typos and grammatical errors. There was that one time, 'way back at the beginning of my Steemit days, when I copied and posted a hilarious story from my sister. I did give her credit, but it probably wasn't the proper thing to post. Nevertheless, my sense of absolution is already in place.
