@kwalker, the ratio of Steem to Steem power is 1 to 1.
The only difference is how you use it. Steem is a token that can be traded, used, sold, etc.
Steem power impacts your upvote, and cannot be used in any other way until you power down.

But the question is - does one Steem Power = 1 Steem? If so, then long term investors would be better off moving all of their Steem into SP, because not only do you get the market price of Steem, but you also get a % of the company's dividends. However, I think there's a possibility of losing SP through bandwidth usage, whereas Steem will not be subtracted from your wallet. These are important questions for long-term investors.
