I’m on my TOTTALY TUBULAR 3rd day of Steem. I noticed that my “smart”Phone takes forever to post a reply. I actually have to close the app to move on...So as this community develops, how much carbon are we putting into the atmosphere? (Even if global warming is a myth.)
As I learn about petahashes, and proof of work, and #solarcoin, and all the rediculous energy we are spending to become decentralized, I wonder how much it is costing the ecosystem for you and I to exchange Steem....
I do my part. We compost, and grow a few veggies. I drive my AWD Subaru on my 2 mile commute. Hell, I’ve wasted a shit ton of energy editing out the weird I️ thing my phone does with the latest IOS.
I understand that when the Almighty Blockchain eliminates banks, and insurance companies, and escrow agencies, and (I didn’t suggest centralized government,) and whatever other evildoers I’m not listing, we’ll have that many fewer servers to power. I’m not to clear on the scalability of a blockchain based social media platform...
Please reply with any info I can follow to make an informed decision as to my carbon footprint being worth my efforts to earn “magical internet moneys”
