Stressed out? Feeling the onset of midlife crisis? An environment that is strong on serenity and stillness, not stress, where the overall vibe is casual and simple, may just be where you need to be. If you want to disconnect for a while (okay, we mean hide from your boss), you might want to head over to TERRA AMORE HILLSIDE RESORT in Cavite.
This quiet and remote property surrounded by fields and grasslands lets you unplug and breathe: signal is erratic and internet is non-existent. If you want to disconnect for a while, Terra Amore Hillside Resort allows you to relax undisturbed. You’ll see plants and trees, hear nothing but birds, and smell fresh unpolluted air. You might not be so far from the metro (Kaytitinga, Cavite is a few short hours’ drive), but you will be far out of reach from your boss. Better file that vacation leave then. You may earn back plus points from the boss if you suggest Terra Amore as venue for corporate events because the resort also functions as a performance and events venue.
Terra Amore means “Love of Earth”‘ in Spanish; it is a place specifically developed for guests to commune with nature. In an email interview with Account Executive Ms. Bella Torres, she revealed that the resort opened in 2017. “Terra Amore may not have a view of Taal Lake, however, its peaceful atmosphere is our key feature especially for guests who crave a relaxing time. We want our guests to remember Terra Amore as a place away from the city which they can always go back to if they wish to unwind,” she said. Yes, there is no lake view but the beautiful view of Mount Talamitam seen at a distance is all you need for contemplative musing.
Terra Amore offers two room types when you want to stay for the night: the Double Room (good for two persons) is Php 2,800/night while the Quadruple (good for four persons) is Php 3,800/night. Additional charge per person is Php 600/night. This comes with an extra mattress. A maximum of two extra mattresses is allowed per room. Breakfast is not included in the package but you may bring all the food and drinks you want. There are grillers if you prefer to cook, available upon request.
If you just have the day to unwind (or when you can’t leave your work desk for at least two days), the resort has three native huts or kubos for Php 700 each. This rate is good for the entire day, from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM for day trips. A kubo can fit 10-15 persons.
Centrally located in the property is the big, blue, inviting swimming pool. Both day trippers and overnighters may use the pool to relax, exercise or star gaze. The lounge area beside the pool is the perfect spot to curl up with a good book.
A few steps away from the pool area is the spacious and bright Pavilion, the site of many memorable events and joyous parties since Terra Amore opened two years ago. The Pavilion can accommodate up to 200 guests. The open-air patio just beside it can seat an additional 40 guests. Some good news: the parking area can fit up to 100 cars. That means all your guests can party away knowing their ride is secure.
No pets are allowed at Terra Amore so best to make other arrangements for your furry ones while you take a relaxing break from social media and the internet.
When the sun goes down amidst an explosion of oranges and pinks, take a quiet stroll around Terra Amore before retiring for a peaceful sleep. This may be all you need to recharge and reset for another day.
