To understand What Are Essential Oils, I have created a separate post for that topic Here
Essential oils can be used in 3 distinct ways:
*1. Inhale the aroma by smelling the bottle, or by putting a drop in your hand, rubbing your hands together and covering your nose, or by using a diffuser. My favorite diffuser is a simple atomizer you can get from Amazon. It can cleanse the air, make it smell better and allow everyone in the house to experience the uplifting scents.
*2. Apply topically, usually with a carrier oil such as coconut, almond oil or olive oil. You can apply to the skin in a localized area, or if you want to utilize the healing benefits of the oil everywhere, apply it to the bottom of the feet where the pores are larger which enables the oil to be absorbed into the body.
*3. Ingest: put a drop (or few) into water and drink: only do this with essential oils which are approved for this use. The bottle of oil must have a Supplement Info label if it can be ingested. Also, when using citrus oils, you must use glass/ceramic containers in order to avoid interactions between the oil and plastics. Certainly when you ingest an oil, you absolutely must have confidence in the supplier regarding purity. Some companies (doTerra, Young Living) test their oils for purity. I always mean to use essential oils, but then... I don't. I use a lot of coconut oil, though. Best thing I ever found for my feet. I never thought of mixing essential oils with it. good tip. Thank you.
