🌐 Location: Kelling Heath and Weybourne Train Station, Norfolk, UK
Another weekend wander! Last weekend the family went to North Norfolk to stay at Kelling Heath. This is a huge caravan and campsite in beautiful forest and heathlands. Drones were actually not permitted on site, but even better than some collection of caravans, lodges and tents is the famous North Norfolk Railway Line!
There is nothing the British like to do more than try to be even more British and go back 100 years to the 'good old days'. That is the age of Victorian engineering and steam powered engines. I have to admit though, they really were. Things were different then, the technology brutal, but there is a certain charm to it. The times and the machines are really awe inspiring.
The North Norfolk Railway Line or the 'Poppy Line' runs from Sherringham to Holt and runs most of the year. You can catch this train as a passenger, old fashioned style, but you can take more interesting rides... Such as the 'murder mystery' train, dinner train, lunch train or, my favourite, the 'Fish and Chip Train!'. I cant wait to ride that, I just need to find a ragged paupers suit and flat cap first!
Below is a video I managed to grab when the train went past our lodge. It was so exciting to be there when this loud, whistling beast went past!

Here is Weybourne Station - where you can still catch a steam train and it feels like the Victorian era! The station itself is true to its original style. Little has changed.
