Hrithik Roshan's father and director Rakesh Roshan is diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat.
Hrithik Roshan confirms through his Instagram post that his actor dad Rakesh Roshan, 69, is diagnosed with early stage "squamous cell carcinoma" of the throat and set to undergo surgery.
He posted a picture of father-son, calling his dad full of spirits as he did not skip hitting gym before proceeding for his cancer treatment.
"Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him," the actor wrote.

Rakesh Roshan is not the first one from Roshan Khandan to be diagnosed with cancer. Few years ago, Hrithik's sister Sunaine Roshan was diagnosed with cervical cancer, which she fought and emerged as a brave survivor.
