Greetings, everyone

This is my entry to the #freewrite 5-minute exercise hosted by @mariannewest. See details here.

Kahlúa was a calico cat we got some years ago. It was given to me by a student of mine who hired a room at an apartment of a lady who apparently was very fun of alcoholic beverages since she named all the kitties after alcoholic drinks. We got Kahlúa, probably the ugliest one.

She did not look that ugly then. I wonder if that was some sort sham, like the little colorful chickens we used to drool about, sold by itinerant sellers, and which grew up to be as white as any other regular chicken.

However, Kahlúa ended up becoming a lovely cat very fun of scratching some part of your body while sucking at some other. She liked hugging, even prettier cats who might become the competition.

She even helped me grade my students' exams.

She was so docile she did not mind the hideous visits of the neighbor's cat, el enmascarado (the masked), as we called it. I probably erased the video that I recorded the day I took this picture. In it, the shameless rascal went ahead to materialized his advances over our cat, never mind we were there looking and basically yelling at him things I am not going to repeat here.

My wife ended up hitting him with a broom on the head. But don't worry, she did not kill him. He came back the next day for more Kahlúa.

Like all stories involving alcoholic veberages consumed in excess, this one did not end well. Their unchained passion consumed them from tale to whiskers. They became mangy calico cats and one day they stopped showing in our roof.

Thanks for your visit

Thanks, @felt.buzz
Much appreciated

Lovely story, countryman.

Thank you, my dear paisana :)

That about describes how cats can behave.

To be honest, I'm a dog person' mainly because my sisters cats have torture me with their schizo behavior(affectionate, then all postal!) every time I come for a visit.

Nice post.

Namaste, JaiChai

Hahah. Thanks.
Yes, cats can be total ingrates, to put it nicely. I can't blame anyone for not liking them.

Muy buena historia, excelentes fotografias.. :) Saludos.

Gracias

Fantastic! I love this!!!

She was so docile she did not mind the hideous visits of the neighbor's cat, el enmascarado (the masked), as we called it.

He sounds like my mom's 'rapist' tom, El Guapo, as she called him, handsome, but frisky, and busy siring too many litters because Mom will not spay/neuter the strays that congregate at her door. She names them and feeds them but cannot catch them, the feral indigents, the ingrates.
Your artwork is great! Your photos of 'The Masked' one are superb. I love this. You could turn this into a children's book if not for the adult themes. :)
Note to Self: remember to nominate this for Friday Favorites

And I love these details:
she named all the kitties after alcoholic drinks. We got Kahlúa, probably the ugliest one. She did not look that ugly then. I wonder if that was some sort sham, like the little colorful chickens we used to drool about, sold by itinerant sellers, and which grew up to be as white as any other regular chicken.

Hahaha. Thanks.
It seems that cats everywhere provide plenty of wild and lecherous stories.
I was not aware of the friday fav nomination thing.
So much stuff going on here I usually miss most of it

Now I have even MORE reason to remember to come back to your post and nominate it! Tuesday is the day the nominate-your-favorites post opens, and we have until Thursday night to drop links/comment nominating a favorite freewrite:
https://steemit.com/contest/@freewritehouse/week-7-2-2019-win-a-membership-in-steem-basic-income-tell-us-about-a-favorite-freewrite

Got it. Thanks. I'll put it down in the to-do list

Hi @hlezama, Very entertaining story. Beauty is over emphasized anyway. Here is your next prompt, and I hope you enjoy doing it too :)

Thank you for stopping by. I went ahead and wrote on today's post. Not a story per se, but the prompt just clicked that fresh reference.

Loved the edited photos. I got a smile about the cat named after an alcohol beverage.

Thanks for stopping by.
I got a similar smile when I visited this student of mine and she started to roll-call the kitties they had available. They had a Brandy, a Rum (Ron, in spanish), a Tequila, an Anis.
The names felt so catchy we named our dog, who arrived somes weeks later, Brandy.
I edited the photos because the original were of a very poor quality and I am very happy with the results (Thank you, whoever-created-these-softwares!)
