China will ban everything that goes counter to their narrative.
They have to keep their one (and only) story going.

It is the reason Hong Kong must be pulled under their yoke.

It will be the destruction of Center Country.

(and internet blockages are as useful as sieves for holding water)

Yea, born and raised there, I’m aware of what is going on.

Viacom seems to have pulled the video.

copyright problem i guess, thanks edited

When I'm in China I have difficulty using really anything since all the big sites are blocked. Steemit wasn't though. 😃

Now steemit also, together with many other steem apis, since last winter, sadly. I really don’t go back any more even just to visit.

well that is just terrible to hear... I was actually surprised and impressed when i was (just in the airport) there last year that Steemit was one of the only things i could actually access.

I will never live there and I hope that the rest of the world doesn't follow their model. awful

I hope no one follows their model too. I think last years they blocked steem reddit and some other sites too.

This is hear say... If entertainment professionals in HK don't demonstrate support for CCP they get "little shoe" treatment (bans/hurdles?) in China.

sad everytime I saw this, probably they will lose the huge china market if they don’t or if they demonstrate support of HK independence... CCP and the whole nationalism thing in China makes me sad.

First thing I do when booting up the computer is to turn on the VPN. Even that has been a real headache since June, but my cell phone has worked pretty seamlessly.
