What is the “Global Litecoin Summit” in September?
September of 2018 promises to be an exciting time for the cryptocurrency community. Investors, developers, enthusiasts, and Cryptocurrency HODLER's alike are looking forward to this time frame for several different reasons. The Global Litecoin Summit is being held on the 14&15th of September. Ironically enough, the SEC has postponed a deadline for the decision on a current pending Bitcoin ETF until September 21st. This fall is shaping up to be a great time for the cryptocurrency investor, average or institutional alike. The Litecoin Summit alone is going to be a heavenly event with networking, brainstorming, and opportunities galore for anyone involved in the crypto space. Read on to see what this “Summit,” focused around Litecoin is all about.
September 14th, a day of history in the making
The Litecoin Summit is scheduled for Friday, and Saturday, of September 14th/15th, 2018. The two-day event being held at the South San Francisco Conference Center is keynoted by the Litecoin creator, none other than, Charlie Lee. Special guests speakers include Litecoin Foundation Director Xinxi Wang, Bill Barhydt, CEO & Founder ABRA, and Eric Brown Aliant Payments CEO, just to name a few. Friday is scheduled to be an all-day lecture based event with theater-style seating in the Grand Ballroom of the South San Francisco Conference Center.
Let the Festivities Begin
Starting with registration at 8:00 am, Charlie Lee kicks off the event with his keynote speech at 10:00 am. Satoshilite is followed by the ABRA founder Bill Barhydt with a “Banking With Crypto” lecture from 10:45 - 11:30. Barhydt is known worldwide as an accomplished mobile/internet technologies guru and has a crazy resume consisting of the CIA, NASA, Netscape and Goldmann Sachs all as previous employers. His lecture “Banking With Crypto” is sure to be a mind-blowing event with his knowledge of integrating payment technologies unlike any other.

Following the ABRA CEO is an unnamed guest lecture TBA. We can only surmise who Charlies Lee has up his sleeve for this prime 11:30-12:00 time slot.
1:00-1:30
After the hour-long lunch break from noon till 1 pm, CEO/Co-founder of RSK Labs Diego Gutierrez Zaldivar presents “Rootstock & Smart Contracts.” His company, RSK Labs, has created the first open-source smart contract platform to be utilized on the Bitcoin network. RSK Labs aims to bring higher-capability to the Bitcoin network through smart contracts and super fast payments.
1:30-2:15
Elizabeth Stark, CEO, and Co-founder of Lightning Labs presents “Lightning & Layer 2” Lightning Labs is responsible for the famous Lightning Protocol, an added layer to already existing blockchains. This fast lane offers users near-instant, high-volume payments, built for the Bitcoin and Litecoin networks.
2:30-3:00
After a 15 minute break, Eric Brown, CEO of Aliant Payments presents “The Crypto-Currency Payments Industry.” Alliant Payment Systems was the first company to complete the Litecoin Foundations registration process and is an official Litecoin payment processor. Alliant offers merchant services for B2B customers and a laundry list of industry companies from e-commerce retailers, to government agencies and restaurants.
3:00-4:30
Xinxi Wang, Litecoin Foundation Director presents, followed by Franklyn Richards, also a Litecoin Foundation Director with “Designing Decentralized Finance.” Adam Draper, Founder, and Director of Boost VC finishes up the speaker/lecture afternoon from 4-4:30 with a small break until 4:45.
4:45-5:45
Charlie Lee, Xinxi Wang, and Franklyn Richards discuss a live Litecoin Foundation Round-table. This hour-long discussion should be a great way to earn some much-needed insight into the goals, efforts, and expansion plans that the Litecoin Foundation has for our “Silver to Bitcoin's Gold,” Litecoin.
5:45 to 8:30
Dinner break. The venue will be setting up for the amazing evening Icebreaker. 8:30 on will be a networking/mingling event where parties involved can meet, greet, and rub elbows with some of the Crypto Industries finest men and women.
September 15
Day two of the Summit will be comprised of a Litecoin Expo in the Grand Ballroom. 50 plus Crypto related businesses will be promoting their activities through attended booths. Speakers will be presenting throughout the day at the “Oyster Point” with over 9 different topics/businesses presenting in slots of 30-45 minutes with 15-minute breaks in between. Topics like “Non-custodial wallets,” “Payment adoption,” and “Crypto Taxation,” are just a few of the days planned discussions. This is definitely going to be one to remember folks.
