With modern furnished rooms, an exclusive rooftop bar and sweeping view of Kowloon, Hotel Madera Hong Kong is a pleasant place to stay within Jordan. I like wandering the art gallery, adding a touch of tradition. Facilities on-site are reasonable, however as we're set in the heart of Kowloon, you'll find no shortage of activities and places to eat.

Hong Kong: Exploring Luxurious Hotel Suites
Hotel Madera Penthouse
During my time at Hotel Madera Hong Kong, I checked out their Penthouse Suite on the 28/ 29th floor. It offers a split level apartment that is comfortable and offers a unique rooftop view of Kowloon. See my 'Exploring Luxurious Hotel Suites of Hong Kong' article. Anyway, let's move on to my time here.

Grand Deluxe Room
The 380 sq. ft Grand Deluxe room is a good-sized room. Where space tends to be a premium in the city of Hong Kong, it's an above average size for solo, couples of pair of friends to unwind. The neutral textiles around the room lend a modern, chic look during the day.
The double-bed is comfortable, with the mattress on the firmer side but also soft on the body. You can get a good night sleep with the blackout curtains during the day. While streets are busy in Jordan, Madera Hotel Hong Kong is off the main road enough to be on the quieter side. Add the fact I'm on the 20th floor and there's rarely enough noise to trouble me which is great. I do love my sleep after a depleting day of exploring.
The bathroom is just behind the bedroom, with an open wall divider that reveals a double-vanity area. I like the fact there's a wall-wide mirror which opens the space up further. An option of a spacious walk-in shower and bathtub makes this suitably a great room to refresh in comforts.
When the spotlights on the ceiling and by the bed light up, it invites a warm, homely feel. The wardrobe is decently sized enough for a short stay with a small locker. Amenities are your standard, but service are receptive when I requested an extra set of bottled water and hot drink sachets. Thank you.

Hong Kong's Past and Present
An unexpected but much welcomed part of Hotel Madera Hong Kong is the art gallery that takes us back to Hong Kong of old. From the ground floor, the entrance greets us with memorabilia, ornaments, furnitures and paintings to immerse ourselves in life back then. The interactive art gallery is a worthwhile visit as you get up close and personal to every little detail on display. The room is large, in which you may find yourself spending up to 30 - 45 minutes. This may change seasonally, but is a unique charm and great way to enjoy time away from the room.

Horizonte Lounge Rooftop Bar
Horizonte Lounge on the 29th floor is a great night spot to enjoy either a quiet drink at the bar, or outside with the breadth of Hong Kong to be enjoyed. The atmosphere is small in space, but offers plenty of seating options. Head up the stairs outside o the rooftop for the exclusive Hotel Madera Hong Kong view.
The rooftop bar is a must-place to check out in Hotel Madera Hong Kong. Open until 1am, the vista of Kowloon is an epic view in the night. A variety of indoor and outdoor spots to chill and drink in this part of the city allow you to enjoy Kowloon in a different way.

Half-Baked Media Room
Now I really like the concept of the media / entertainment / games room. Available to any guests of Hotel Madera Hong Kong, you can request to visit the room in hourly slots for gaming or taking advantage of the 100" projector screen. For extra immersion and visual effects, lights can change colour and illuminate between the wall panels. There's a sweet racing chair setup for the PS4 too or an XBOX One for other titles.
Sadly, the gaming library is severely lacking and lacklustre. As a gamer or anyone wanting to play, they'll be put-off from the selection. I'm not sure if you can connect your own laptop (which would be great if so), but the movie entertainment is also sparse. If they can get a streaming Netflix service with more comfortable seating then the bench ones for a longer period of time, I'd definitely spend some time here.

Cafe 1997 & Core Gym
Cafe 1997 with lounge space © One Tech TravellerFor a great day spot to eat breakfast, lunch or get productive in the nicely decorated lounge, Cafe 1997 on the 3rd floor is the place to be. Open until 6pm, many can relax here as it's essentially the only common space outside of your room. Ambient music, comfy sofa chairs and a selection of beverages, snacks and desserts to keep you company. On a sunny day, the balcony tabled seats are a nice way to soak up the sun at the same time.
Essentials to stay in shape © One Tech TravellerWhen it comes to exercise, the 24 hour gym is satisfactory to workout. THe range of treadmills, weighted machinery, floormats are great, overlooking the streets of Jordan relatively high up. You'll find enough here to keep you interested for a quick or long session, burning up the calories of food you eat in local Hong Kong restaurants and markets.

Noteworthy Surprise
Overall, Hotel Madera Hong Kong has its own charms. It offers essential facilities like a 24 hour gym that is sufficient, a unique art gallery for those throwback times of old, and an awesome, panoramic vista of Kowloon.
It's location is great to walk within the heart of Kowloon, while offering enough breathing space for quieter nights away from the noise. If you're looking to stay in the Jordan, Kowloon area, then Hotel Madera Hong Kong is a choice worth considering.
