Inside Marloe Watch Company's Passion for Hand Wound Timepieces

In the quaint Henley-on-Thames region of the UK lies Oliver and Gordon's vision, passion for design and love of timepieces. Marloe Watch Company started in 2015 and ever since, their journey has led to a marvel of alluring creations that embrace the slow-living counter-culture. They celebrate hand wound tradition, going against our ever-increasing dependency on technology. They've ignited my love for mechanical movements, and hand wound watches beyond any connection I thought possible.

I first came to discover their timepieces after searching for thoughtful, distinctly unique mechanical watches. Their British tradition and focus on creating exceptional watches that go against the grain, bring about an inner sense of excitement in what Oliver and Gordon envision timepieces to be - that slow-living counter-culture bound by traditional simplicity.

Marloe Watch Company is one of the most refreshing watch brands found right here in the UK, even more when you start to understand that beyond telling the time, they serve as a 'conduit for memories'. That for me, is what makes each hand wound watch even more special.

The Coniston

The Coniston is their newest flagship that encapsulates years of experience with the Marloe Watch Company. From the original Cherwell, Derwent and Haskell, the Coniston further establishes themselves with the most distinctive, exciting timepieces yet.

A few highlights really let you appreciate the finesse and care taken with The Coniston: a bright exhibition caseback that provides a lens into the intricate components that create a smooth hand movement, "Courage is not being Fearless" engraved into the caseback perimetre, a reminder as we gleam deep into the chamber to pursue our ambitions without fear.

The watchface an exquisite masterpiece with a considered and polished look, embracing the angles, shapes, depth and functions into the design elegantly. And as nightfalls, the lume hands and infill illuminate with an eye-friendly blue hue that is calming to the senses.

Inspired by the Coniston Waters in the British Lake District - and a respectful nod to Sir Malcolm Campbell and his family with their Bluebird K4 and K7 respectively - The Coniston takes on four variations to suit your palette and taste. Bluebird, White, Vulcan and Steel offer striking colours across the watchface and leather strap, each accentuating elegance differently. The Consiton feels contemporary in design but unique like no other; the calibre of the Marloe Watch Company.

Where Vision and Passion Come Alive

A two-man team but with a big passion to share the Marloe Watch Company story, it's evident to see their love for creating beautiful hand wound timepieces come together, from what has been a tremendous journey so far. It's amazing to see how all of that
