As promised we are sharing our endeavors to find the right coffee bean supplier for our coffee shops.
Today we tested Lio Coffee from lion3star (lion3star.com). They offer different roasts of 100% Thai Arabica coffee beans and we can definitely say that they give an excellent service and know exactly what they are doing.
We were very excited to test the coffee from this new supplier candidate because that's what really counts for coffee lovers like us.
The test settings were

(html comment removed: [if !supportLists])· (html comment removed: [endif])For our tests we used the Italian coffee machine (Promac green me plus), along with a separated water filter system, for good, sustainable water quality.
(html comment removed: [if !supportLists])· (html comment removed: [endif])Water temperature was set at 120 degree Celsius, with 15-bar pressure, for a 25 second, espresso brew to start with.
· This also is the standard setting that our coffee shops work with.
The test results
The first sniff was not what we expected to get from fresh Arabica beans.
The aroma was not transported well, and the odor was somehow very thin and watery; something that we would expect from a simple powder coffee.
Nothing of the typical Arabica aroma was smelt, which should be a roasted smell with soft fruity notes and sugary tones.
Even the taste seemed very thin.
So, we did not pursue further their products or ingredient chain, which we will do if we discover a candidate that we believe is interesting.
Never the less, this coffee is good enough if you prefer to drink your coffee with a lot of milk and sugar!
You could own the best coffee machine and use the most aromatic and tasty coffee, but in less than a week your coffee powder will be ruined if it isn’t stored properly.
We all know that it’s a hassle to grind coffee beans every time when we plan to drink a coffee.
The following very simply trick really does a great job to keep your coffee fresh:
Get yourself a good coffee tin.
They do not cost much, and it usually is a onetime investment. Look for a tin that is airtight to keep the aroma inside. It should be made of stainless steel to prevent contamination of the coffee and its aroma by the tin material itself. At home I use a simple coffee tin I ordered from amazon. It has all the requirements mentioned above and, in my eyes, it looks great. Go for that one or something similar and your coffee powder will stay fresh and tasty for an extended time. You will also save a lot of time every day.

So far for today.
