Buthidaung: Remaining Rohingya in northern Buthidaung are forced to pay bribe to an informant with the help of authorities, according to updates received on 1st December 2018.
Any Rohingya who wants to do farming or plantation on their land must bribe an informant in Maung Gyi Taung village tract of Buthidaung township with the help of Burmese armed forces.
According to locals, the bribing is set free by the Burmese authorities who have equal shares in that criminal activity.

For per acre of farming land any Rohingya must give him 25000 kyats as a fixed bribe.
Moreover if any Rohingya denies, they are either tortured or harassed by the Burmese authorities severely.
In many cases, Rohingya who rejected giving bribes were forced to pay double the usual amount as a punishment.

These sort of abuses ans tortures are increasing the fear of the remaining Rohingay and are sending an alarm of danger for nearly 1.3 million Rohingya, who are in the queue of return to Arakan, Burma.
