Last Friday I went to Midvalley's Exhibition Center as they were hosting CarSifu's AutoShow. Probably they are trying to hook some customers because of SST (Sales Service Tax) is going to enforce in September. Now is the best time to purchase but unfortunately I don't have enough budget to change a car. But nonetheless this one caught my eye, Proton R3 Iriz Race Car
I have heard about this car before, even saw on live stream for this car battling through Sepang Race Track. Never knew I have the chance to visualize it right in front of me. So many tweaks and tune ups has been done to this car, especially on the custom ratio dogbox and CUSCO 1.5 way limited slip differentials. I didn't know 1.5 is useful for grip racing, as far as I know 1 way is the best and 2 way is for drifting, I guess I have more to learn.
This car is able to push up to 190hp, with the engine alone. I haven't calculate the power to weight ratio for this car as this car is fairly light, much of the stuff has been replaced to a lighter and stronger parts.
Damn I wish I can have a chance to ride, or drive this machine. It's really got a potential for the chassis's lightness. If not mistaken I have heard before World Rally Championship using this car, with a transplanted Evo X engine (4B11T), known as the Proton Iriz R5, so sick!

The rally Proton Iriz is not this one.....it is the Iriz R5 developed by Mellors Elliot Motorsport (seen below) based on the Iriz chassis.
The 4B11T in the Iriz R5 is downstroked to 1.6 liters (from the original 2.0l) to comply with R5 regulations.
