Speed, Quality and Support are Key.
When it comes to choosing a hosting company for your company, business or even personal website there are several factors to take into consideration. Simply opting for the cheapest doesn't necessary mean the best deal in the long run.
There are other factors that you must consider than price, although this can be some of the influence, especially when it comes to renewing where quite often than not, hosting companies will super inflate the costs over what you initially paid.
One key element is the speed of the servers and although this is not a big issue, it is always best to opt for a hosting company that will ensure your page loads are good enough to compete with your competition.
Another factor is the support given, whether it is by telephone, email or online ticket system, should anything go wrong, it is vital you have a good support team that will ensure that your site is back up and running as soon as possible as well as be able to deal quickly and efficiently with any enquiries you may have. And this goes further with updates on their software management, We have been bitten before by hosting companies who have been literally out of date by years on such things as their PHP which can leave your site vulnerable and open to attacks.
Having built dozens of websites and used numerous hosting companies over the years, there are VERY few we actually recommend, the one that stands out from the crowd for us is Siteground and from as little as £2.74 a month, with full support, latest server software, free SSL certificates they are hard to be beaten, in fact they are offering 70% off at the moment of their normal prices through our affiliate link http://siteground.co.uk/go/socialmediaseo So whether you are sick and tired of poor service, up for renewal and/or want to save money, we recommend switching, they also offer a free site transfer for your website to make the transition easier.

Hi mate!
I have a problem. Somebody downvoted my contests every time just before the payment with no explanation. I moved my contest to @mapleleaf123 (we are married...) in order to save it and now he is downvoting it there too. Have a look: https://steemit.com/nature/@mapleleaf123/payout-name-the-bird-contest-episode-50
I don't know what to do, but all my work was for nothing.
Can I do something about it?
Do you know if the system has any protection against this practice?
Many thanks!

Not sure what you can do about it, maybe you can block them?

Good morning @socialmediaseo!
Thanks for the answer.
No, there is no blocking mechanism in steemit.
I am very sorry, but this is the end of the game for me.
Have a nice day!
