Für die Fortsetzung von "Jurassic World" packte Juan Antonio Bayona auf die 150 Mio US Dollar Produktionskosten noch eine Schippe drauf. Insgesamt beliefen sich die Kosten für Teil 2 auf 260 Millionen US Dollar, die sich aber alleine durch die Kinoeinnahmen mehrfach gelohnt haben. Mit 1,3 Milliarden eingespielten US $ hat es der Dinostreifen aktuell schon auf Platz 12 der finanziell erfolgreichsten Filme der Geschichte geschafft.

Auf kino.de wurde der Film von über 330 Nutzern mit 4,6 von 5 möglichen Sternen bewertet. Alleine in Deutschland haben knapp 2,5 Millionen Besucher Jurassic World 2 im Kino gesehen.
Wer den Film im Kino verpasst hat oder wer ihn gesehen hat und unbedingt in seine DVD Sammlung integrieren möchte, der kann JW 2 schon jetzt vorbestellen. Offizieller Veröffentlichungs- und Ausliefertermin ist der 4.Oktober diesen Jahres. 4K UHD Fans müssen sich noch ein paar Tage länger in Geduld üben. Das limitierte 4K Steelbook ist erst ab dem 28. Dezember 2018 erhältlich.
