You need enemies that are stronger and better than you are

Our growth and development should the most important aspect of our lives, whatever doesn’t make you money, make you better or make you happy, shouldn’t take any fraction of your time. On that note, our time is another valuable resource that we must guide and watch with jealousy because it is the true essence of which the quality and impact of our lives can be measured with.

In today’s world filled with so much information that may need a thousand lifetimes to process, it becomes very important to find creative ways of cutting through all the noise and making the most of our time and maximizing opportunities. And this brings me down to today’s topic “You Need Enemies Stronger Than You are”. It can be said that in order to give you an idea of your strength and the level that you currently operate on, look at you arch-rival, as he will reveal so much about you, than you may know about yourself.

Your enemy is might be your greatest teacher

We social beings and that means interaction with one another is a vital part of our existence. However, these interactions are often tied to a benefit we hope to gain. Examples are; we interact with our parents in order to get the basic support we need in our early formative years, we interact with people at school with the hope of making friends who in turn will give us support and the warmth of friendship, and we have lovers, who we hope will take this warmth and comfort to a more intimate degree.

In our daily interactions, some of these relationships don’t always work out fine, sometimes, friends drift apart for several reasons, maybe common values are no longer shared. And often in our dealing, we get to make rivals, people who don’t always have our interest at heart, and sometimes, will go at length to see us lose, fail or suffer. As we get older, we tend to realise that the line between right and wrong is highly blurred.

As we get into fights with our rivals and device means of taking them down or beating them at a game or a competition, it is wide we watch ourselves as we respond to the threat that they pose. We spend countless nights preparing ahead of a confrontation against them, we conduct deep research to find a better way to beat them, and work hard and stay persistent in trying to win, and in the end, we win sometimes, and lose other times.

But in all this, we get better and stay competitive when faced with a rival, as we try as much as possible to be at our best, and not lose to a fierce rival as that will be a bitter pill to swallow for most folks.

Don't hate the player, hate the game

There are several accounts in history where arch rivals later in life become closest friends, and in some cases, they even become best of friends. To some great degree, the reason behind this is because, during their combative years, they maintained a sportsmanship gesture towards their rivalry, it was just a game, and they were just on opposing sides. And due to this conduct, they didn’t commit unforgivable crimes to the other party, thus leaving a room for them to later become friends when all is said and done.

So, later in life, they can both look back at the times they spent fighting and try hard to outsmart each other, and have a hard laugh about those times, and they can share valuable insights and see things from a different point of view. Nothing is really worth dying or killing over, life should be enjoyed by all.

In the end

Your enemies hate and love you at the same time, work with that hate to better yourself for now, and later, reach out to that love that they have for you, and foster a strong relationship with them, for they might prove to be a great ally or a trusted friend.

Salam dari saya @yandot

That's a great blog @yandot. We should learn a lot from our enemies because they always try to bring us down or to be better in unusual ways. Also, I always try to confront them out in the open and clear out things. Making them friends is even better as they already know your vulnerabilities :)

Cheers and welcome to @steempress-io! The plugin is great. :-D

The best way against them is to avoid the continuing debate, not everyone can do that
Thanks for your reading my post man!
