We all hear about influencers on social media and some making a living with a million views or followers. Do people on Quora also make money or as I assume it's simply for the good of the community? If so, what has to be done to be a paid influencer?

Quora has a partnership program that pays to people who ask questions. Quora does not pay anyone for answering questions. In general, Quora does not pay its users very well. Quora has 300 million monthly active uses but the top five partners earn only a few thousand dollars a month. In contrast, the top five content creators on all apps using the Steem blockchain earn about 2–3 less depite Steem having 30 THOUSAND monthly active users. The Steem blockchain pays out in the order of 10,000 times better in cryptocurrency than Quora pays in dollars to those of its users that create the most value.

The economic benefit of creating valuable content on Quora goes almost entirely to the shareholders of Quora. There are intangible benefits, of course. But wouldn’t it be fantastic if we as the users could have BOTH the financial benefits as well as the educational and social benefits of an app like Quora?
