I don't use Facebook anymore, or at least not for posting. I do sign on sometimes so that I can connect with some old friends but that is through messaging. However, I'm trying to get my family over to SteemIt. I know I told you before, but once my parents make the move they will be joining and my wife has finally made an account. Granted, she hasn't made a post yet.

I have always shied away from social media including Facebook and Twitter although I have dabbled in LinkedIn. This all changed when I discovered steemit as I recently described in my intro post. You're right that it is really something to behold that the likes of Facebook can't buy steemit and yes it does have the potential to rival it. I love this new platform and wish i had discovered it a while back when it first got going. Every day im chatting with family and friends letting them know about Steemit and what it offers. But I don't think that it should have to be a choice between Facebook or Steemit, why not use both if need be? I currently use Twitter, Steemit, Instagram, and Facebook and each one has its own things that I like. I can see more people and more people joining Steemit but also continuing to use other social networks too. Social networks are about social networks so lets enjoy them all :)

Great post! facebook will continue, but with less of my presence. Lately there are posts that are paid posts and I have to scroll through a lot of crap just to get find. What family and friends are posting. When i post something here i do go to Facebook and. Leave a short statement and a link to my post on steemit.
