Hello friends,
It’s beautiful to travel, to see new places, different city and great monuments. But where can we integrate this place, the Corvin Castle, because here we can enjoy off all , at first with his great view, second with his wander full history and so on. But let me share my experience there.
For the start I will sow you the beautiful view of this Castle. As we get in front of it, we encounter a beautiful wooden bridge that makes the passage to enter the castle, this bridge is supported on 4 massive stone pillars, placed in the Zlasti river beds and leaving behind the Husan's yard.
The castle was erected by John of Hunedoara on a rock at the base of which flows the Zlaşti stream. It is an imposing and beautiful building being the largest medieval construction with dual civil and military functionality, provided with towers, bastions and a donjon. The castle is being restored and transformed into a museum to be admired by all its guests because it is considered one of the most beautiful castles in the world and is located in the top 10 European fairytale destinations.
Once you enter the castle, passing by the great gate we find an impressive interior courtyard where in the Middle Ages there was a Catholic church that at first was an Orthodox church being converted to Catholicism for political reasons.
Curiosities arise from the fact that the entrance to the church was made from the inner courtyard of the castle, through a sumptuous door and with Renaissance details. And the inside of the church is a special one found in the opinion of many a great copies in the miniature of the Cathedral of Amiens.
This castle has 42 rooms, two terraces, two bridges and a built area of 7000 square meters all renovated, or even on the brink of renovation, for the most beautiful and impressive entry to the medieval.
Also inside the courtyard you can see the Capistrano Tower , where the legend says that a spy monk had been built alive.
near the entrance to the church there is the fountain dug in stone that comes with another story.
This fountain and her legend, quite incomprehensible, says that the Turks who were taken prisoners promised that if they were digging a fountain directly into the stone when they reached the water, they would be released. These ranging from being free to dug for 10 years eventually succeeded and brought water to the castle but instead of being released as promised they were beheaded. And before being executed it is said that one of the prisoners has written on a stone the fountain the words - water you have, you have no soul -
This fountain is about 30 meters deep and very popular because of her storyline, there is no tourist who has been in this place and not looking down imagining those people inside her digging for life.
The next place we will visit is the Diet Hall .Here we go again to the land of legends ,it’s said that the guilty have been judgments here in the Hall of Diet and sentenced, they were summoned to the court and the sentence was usually the executions.
There were many execution techniques ,and near the prison the place where the prisoners were held is the pit of the bones where arrived the prisoners judged in the Diet Hall.
Here in the pit of the bones were thrown from a distance of 10 meters and when they were down they were torn by a mechanism made up of several seas that did not stop until the people in the pit were not dead. This was not the only pit of the horror in this castle .Another place of execution was the lion's dump, only with the name because there were hungry bears or wolves ready to tear those who were sentenced to death. Strange was the place where this animal pit was, it was located under the window of the the Princesses Chamber window.
The Hall of the Ladies is at the first level of the tower, here you can see pieces of furniture from the 18th-19th centuries, a source of warmth, as well as the clothing used by them placed on some mannequins to make the image of a princess in that room easier.
Another frightening place of this castle is the torture chamber, where the people and some princess was tortured. In this place is very dark and in background we hear frightening music, here is reached through a small and low door.
Eight towers can be found in the view of this Castle, most of which are built for military purposes, for defense. They turn it into an almost impossible to conquer.
These towers, each having its own name, namely:
1 - The Buzdugan Tower, which was an observation tower
2 - Neboisa Tower as a defense bastion
3 - The new tower that is currently used as an entrance to the castle by the front bridge that was in the past a mobile bridge raised by ropes ,the tower was provided with a guard room and there was also the prison.
4 - The Capistrano Tower which had the role of defense and is named of a monk.
5 - Tower of Toboars and has this name because the drummer was making ads from here.
6 -The old gate tower this being used in the past as the main entrance
7 -The White Tower here were firearms and artillery terraces
8 - And the last and most unimportant tower was the Pustiu Tower, because there was nothing .
I loved the entrances for each of the rooms of this castle that were so large and beautifully ornamented specific to the Gothic style.Every room has its own story and history Here was the storehouse of the castle and the place where the food was stored
As well as spiral staircases, where we meet the Corvin family coat of arms nobility, but also other stairs of the castle
Many stories say the halls of this place would haunt the ghosts of those killed here, and most tourists cross these places in their search, this is one of the corridors.
There are also beautiful rooms in which some exhibitions are exposed, which were found in the castle at that time
But also the concert hall and the beautiful chairs that all tourists take pictures of
And for the end I kept the room where it is exposed the layout of the Castle
I hope you enjoy my story about this place, most things I know from our guide, who introduced us to the castle ,but I also got some info from “Castelul Corvinilor Wikipedia “ like the example numbers and his full programs :)
The visit schedule here takes place between 9: 00-20: 30 on all days of the week and the price for one tikes is between 5-7 € .
In the vicinity of the castle we also find a private parking lot, but also a few parking places on the street.
The Monument is located in Romania, in the South West of Transilvania, right in the center of Hunedoara County where it can be reached by any means of transport. For example the nearest airport is on Sibiu at a distance of only 92 km, from where you can take the train or bus to get here in Hunedoara. And for reaching the Castle of Corvinilor or Huniazilor as it is said , can take a taxi or a bus.
This is another beautiful place of my wonderful country Romania

Frumoasa descrierea castelului si destul de comprehensiva dar as avea cateva completari: Iancu de Hunedoara in engleza e John Hunyadi, legendele cu fantanile sapate de prizonieri sunt atat de mult repetate incat ajung sa se intipareasca in mentalul colectiv ca adevaruri istorice. Sapatul fantanilor era o treaba complexa facuta de mesteri specializati, iti recomand cartea lui Radu Oltean despre fortificatii daca vrei sa te convingi http://www.elefant.ro/carti/carte/istorie/istoria-romanilor/cetati-castele-si-alte-fortificatii-din-romania-de-la-inceputuri-pana-spre-anul-ivivi-331331.html
Calatorii placute :)
