Very interesting day today. Been running around in various meetings since early this morning, and I bump into an old friend met at last year’s Steem Saturday event that my company was the main sponsor of. Besides the opportunity to market the great community @steemit is to the African market, we also made a lot of new friends.
@Gavvet mentioned him in his post on our event in https://steemit.com/steem-saturday/@gavvet/lorien-gamaroff-at-first-steem-saturday-johannesburg-29-oct

Lorien is a very interesting gentleman, and very much a bitcoin profit (he calls himself a Bitcoin Maximalist). He amongst other things is an advisor to our local central Bank (South African Reserve Bank) on crypto, but have also been involved in some very interesting social project, and is busy with a very exciting new project that will see the light of day soon.
During our meeting in Sandton, he mentioned he was asked to speak to a local company that is hosting a crypto event and asked if @jacor and I will tag along. Before we knew it we had a small audience of about 20 people, including some very influential people that has started exploring crypto, and shared the podium with Mr Bitcoin (Lorien), and he introduced us and our involvement with Steemit.
After a short talk by him, we embarked on telling this audience about the great world of Steemit, how this is a very easy way to get into the Crypto world, and some of the amazing conversations we have had on Steemit, and amazingly how you can get rewarded for great content in a cryptocurrency called Steem!
Before today none of them has heard of Steem and many thought Cryptocurrency equals Bitcoin. After today we have quite of few new Steemians I am sure. I find it brilliant to engage with this community that stands in its infancy, and love telling my fellow countrymen to sign up and become part of this fascinating new world. We are only at the start of this amazing platform and there is so much fertile ground to still cover. Steem on everyone!
Very nice
