Hello to you all at the steemsilvergold community. I feel very fortunate to have found you all and before I start to tell you about this cheeky little collectable, I first wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Daniel, but please use anything other than this if you want to chat. Unless you happen to be my Mum or Dad and I'm being told off. Apart from this preference, it's up to you how you address me and there aren't many names I haven't been called in the past, so I am sure you won't offend. As you will find out, I am new to this game and just want to connect with the right audience and from what I have seen so far, you lot are a lot more laid back than I thought you'd be. So keep reading and let me tell you how I got started and why I am making such a formal introduction.
Even before steemit came into my life I have been interested in shiny objects, but over the past few months I have really started to grow some wings and I am pretty sure that it is a Magpies life for me. The more shiny things I can collect, the better!
I imagine that quite a few have trodden the same paths as I have, on the way to the 'Ingot-brick-road' and now it has led me here I would like to share the nostalgia with all of you.
My first step into shinatown was through the release of the Olympic 50p collection and after harrasing every local shop-keeper for about a year, my daughter and I managed to complete the set. It would have took a lot less time had someone not taken our half-finished collection to the cash and carry...( I was not a happy bunny, I can tell you )
I haven't yet found the collection of £2 coins yet, but the experience of finding the 50p's with my daughter was magic enough. We found every coin honestly and never paid for a single one, which was awfully tempting by near the end.
As you can see, I have a few other random coins that I have managed to keep hold of during the cold winters, a time when my gas metre decided to go gangster and extort more and more cash every year.
Apart from the collection of 50p's, my favourite coin is the Magna Carta £2 and if you type my steemit name into google, alongside the words Magna Carta, you will find out why.
I was about to take a breath and put some thought into what I was about to do and if I had done this with my cryptocurrencies, I would be a very rich man by now. Those who already know me will tell you that I am the proverbial bull and due to my crpto-funds coming solely from steemit, I saw it as free money and paid little respect to the game.
(Like I said, thinking more than a day ahead is not my usual style)
Crypto could die-out for many reasons and I want to make sure this hasn't all been for nothing.
It is time to get my shizzle in the bizzle!
My embryonic knowledge of buying precious metals was soon to be awoken and it seemed my first contact was a good sign of things to come and a great ambassador for #steemsilvergold.
@pit-bullion was the first person that I ever saw on steemit, posting about silver and also how he pours it himself!!
And credit where it is due, this guy is obviously a big-dog on the block and yet he still made time to answer one of my usually simple questions, probably something like
"do you dig the silver from the ground yourself?"
It's not that I am thick or ignorant, I just seem to blurt out whatever is on my mind, but once I have found my comfort zone I am quick to learn. I will give myself some credit though, as I am also hungry to learn and with crypto taking such a mauling of late, it seems that sooner is better than later, when investing my crypto in silver...
So with no time to lose I have been as busy as my life allows and have managed to make some quite serendipitous contacts...
Steve Allen contacted me about 2 months ago, via FaceBook, and asked if I would be interested in joining "his team" at 'Mintbuilder'. He had noticed a flyer I had posted about a local steemit promo day I had organised. He noticed that I am invested in crypto and with Mintbuilder trading in bitcoin, he saw a connection and offered his wares.
No I will always maintain that Mintbuilder is a pyramid scheme, as much as Steve and the website say otherwise. But even with that still considered, I see a good opportunity and after doing a lot of background checking to find out if Steve was a "good guy",
which turned out to be a huge understatement and
since then, I have been chomping at the bit to get the ball rolling.
Money does not come my way very easily and saving the £200 registration fee is taking its sweet time, especially when I keep slowing things down and buying bloody shiny things!!!
I'm supposed to be saving, so I can access the mintbuilder shop and purchase some under-spot silver, and here's me buying £100 worth of silver from elsewhere!!
I honestly can't help myself and the proverbial bull is ready to charge.
Please give me strength!
I want to become a mintbuilder advocate and bring my business onto steemit and share some of the goodness with all you folk in the steemsilvergold community.
To find out more about my plans with mintbuilder and how it could benefit us all, please follow this link.
I have been blown away at how friendly you all are and I must admit that I was expecting a lot of hard-nosed businessmen, all trying to get a raise. Oh how wrong I was...
It hasn't taken me long to realise that folk who collect silver and gold are just like normal people... Who would have thunk it, eh?!
In particular I have been blown away by the generousity shown in the big raffle. You guys have been offering up your hard earned silver, like it was going out of fashion.
Appologies to those not shown in the screen-shot. The list is unbelievably long and I recommend you all take a look
If I were packing the big-blocks and wasn't living on the edge of the landlords patients every month, I would have put in one of my own coins. But proof of the pudding is in the tasting and my time to prove my integrity will come.
For now I can only offer my friendship, the odd up-vote here and there and some regular re-steems to help promote your good work.
And hey.. If things keep progressing, I will soon be an advocate at Mintbuilder! Once this is done, I will be able to purchase top-quality silver and gold at the lowest prices possible.
(So the adverts claim... But Steve Allen has offered to purchase me a coin at £17, and for a 1oz silver proof coin, that is damn good!!)
Anyway, this post is for me to say hello to you all, not to flog my prospects.
Mintbuilder is 2nd on my list of priorities, but I would like to bring something to the table and thought I would be up-front about my plans. All this seems to have happened for a reason and one thing has just led to another. For now though I will leave it there and end this post with some pictures of a forgotten piece in my silver collection.
This is a penknife I found buried inside the engine compartment of an aircraft tug. It was when I used to work as a mechanic for East Midlands airport and after a fruitless search for the owner, I ended up taking it home. I have no idea of it's age or origins and it would be great if anyone could supply any. I would also like to know how to polish-up the blade and bring back its shine, it seems a shame to see it so roughed up.
Hope you have all enjoyed reading this post and I hope to be joining you all on discord soon enough.
You can also find me on the steemit whitelist
And I would like to invite you all to @pennsif's show, where you will find myself as a guest. Show airs at 11pm(UK time) on masp-waves radio. You can also listen and chat, via the PAL Discord server
You can find all the links and information here
See you later folks and peace to you and yours.

Hi, @articl61. I am too into metals, i have a way that people don't often think about, but if your interested in silver / gold i could be of interest to you.
I don't post about it on here as I think that crypto and gold should be separate but that is just me been me.
I collected electrical waste and I made a lot of money from it, and its not just scrapping and weighing it in.
All cables have copper, all motherboards have gold and all cd's have silver. there are many youtube videos out there that can show you how, but I like my way of doing things.
Back in 2016, I made £7,000 doing it as a hobby over a year, I would collect TV's that people had trashed and laptops from computer repair shops. (they have to pay to get rid of their waste) so they will give it a way for free.
Inside new tv's the boards have gold on them and around the tv screen itself has connectors that are also gold.
Don't get me wrong I have to play with acid to collect gold from it and there isn't loads but it all adds up if you get enough.
I had a smelter to melt down the metals and I would put my alloy and copper into bars and weigh them in.
the gold I saved and took it to a gold merchants that weighed it in I had to leave it with them so they could test it to make sure it was the karrot I was saying it was.
I have moved house now and I can't carry on with this kind of project but if its something that you have space and time for then go for it.

Dude, that is brilliant and very interesting. No wonder they don't allow you to buy anything from the council tip these days.
I'm a mechanic mate so the house often looks like a garage, a few more TV's won't hurt. I will take a look at the YouTube vids you mentioned. That could be a nice passive income.... Thanks for the heads-up :)

there is a guy you want to look for if your going to go to youtube, he is ace mate, he is called ewaste ben. he really knows his stuff.
If you start to rip tv's apart remember that the screens are poisons like cyanide I believe.
Oh and do you fancy coming to fix my car, i have had no end of problems haha

Turbo is making a weering noise, need a back tyre as it is just legal, need a boot catch as the boot sometimes opens and sometimes doesn't
passanger side mirror desideds to move on its own.
injector seal has gone on 3rd injector so spraying diesel in engine bay, alternator fault we believe as it has flashing head lights sometimes.
the list goes on and on and on and on and on. haha
