Good morning all lovely SSG peoples
well today I am a happy bunny, no honest I am, I woke up covered in fur, cute little cotton puff tail, a strange liking for carrots..........ok so really my excuse for all this unbound joy is... I managed to get the hang of firing woohoo!
gosh my eyes are bad thought I had written I got the hang of flirting there :) and I definitly haven't got the hang of that ~ mrs I know how to turn any situation awkward here :) I really should just get me some glasses :)

anyways my friends those of you who follow regularly will know I have started a new adventure in playing with silver and yup I worked hard all week and I learnt a lot, I am very glad I learned that if you don't put the gas bottle in correctly you get a rather shocking flame flying out rapidly and its best to always make absolutely damn sure you put it in right. I have now learned how to put it in right. My quick reactions meant the flame was extinguished immediately but it was quite spectacular how it rolled out covering the worktop in a blue tongue of impending destruction, like I said though I flew into action and had it covered, still lesson learned.
I also learnd that firing is definitly an art, in fact I would go as far as saying I am now confident that I have learned ............wait for it.............if you have it too hot then the silver melts..........yup I am definitely progressing :) and this week I have made two little bats, one heart, a fabulous little pirate skull~its pirate sunday I would have been foolish not to :) and oh my I need a drum roll please..................
ok I wanted to make something bigger, I love making tiny things but I have to bear in mind these things I make will be hallmarked and sold at some point so it was time to learn how to make something bigger. I am most excited how it turned out, and I am very happy with the results :)
first my little skull and bats:

as usual my old iphone3 is not really enthusiastic about taking good photos so I took this little video as well so you can see the shinyness :)

and now the drum roll shall begin...........please imagine drum roll sound here, if you are feeling really happy you can do that stamping your feet on the floor thing to sound like a drum roll, ...I am already doing it :).......I made...........batman :)

He weighs in at

28.25 g!

I love him! and he feels heavy :) admittedly his finish isn't perfect, but I am very happy with him so now my favourite thing to say to people is have you felt my batman?

next week I will be making more silvery goodness and I am loving every minute :)

have an excellent day!

That's great, what silver did you use to make them?

hiya sorry for late reply i had no rc :( i use prometheus, however it is very expensive so i cannot recommend it to anyone, the only reason i use it is because i am disabled and only have one fully functional arm so i cannot our silver other wise i would be pouring, however i wanted to make silver pretty things so this was the only way to go, an example of how expensive it is; the batman you see in this post cost me £66 to make and it only weighs just over 28 g thats a huge premium and consequently i dont think i wll be selling that one, the only ones i am going to sell will be the smaller ones the bigger ones like batman i make just for me, he will become part of my treasure :) for most people silver pouring is the way to go i would love to be able to pour there are some amazing silver pourers in ssg and i love and admire all their work, thank you for dropping by its nice to hear from you i hope you have an excellent day, much respect to you

Well girl, you're ahead of me at this point. I'm content to have MK Barz make me my Silver bullion Shurikens. I'll be doing a little Giveaway so you're gonna have a chance at it even if you can't get in on the YoutTube one on now.

Awesome Batman! Thanks for your lovely replies I thought I was following you already I am now and got lots to catch up on :-) yeah I made a leaf pendant for my ex was very thin and I must have not fired it properly because it eventually snapped after a few months and looked grey colour inside. Great fun tho and picks up really fine detail, keep it up you will soon be a master silversmith!
