well good sunday morning to all you lovely ssg people

I am so excited at writing this post! Some of you may know my tiny stackling status :) well yesterday I was lucky enough to be able to add a tiny bit more, woohoo the stack grows !

Did my homework :) looked for my nearest coin shoppe or anything remotely like, and found one within ten miles, now that's a big journey to me, I won't go into detail suffice it to say I am disabled-mobility impaired and I have no transport, even going to the corner shop is an adventure :) but I paid more in getting there than I did for the coins lol it only opens three days a week so yesterday I was lucky to have found a day it was open and it was an antiques shop.
He looked at me like I was an alien lol, the shop was full of vintage, expensive, gorgeousness, could have bought the whole shop if I was able to, don't think many ask for coins though, he disappeared out the back somewhere and ten minutes later after I had coveted just about everything on display returned with a small cardboard box of coins.
I nearly clapped my hands in joy, not sure if I actually did but the youngest was giving me that 'you're embarassing me, mam' look.
I bought this
C1.png
It's heavy, large, 4cm, he said it was a silver crown and I bought it mainly because it was so old, and I love the design on the back, 9.25 silver and it was the only one he had, I paid £25 for it though I am not sure if that is good or bad, seemed good to me but I am a tiny stackling and was just happy to own a wonderful old coin.

This one is smaller, just under 3 cm lighter and shows more wear and tear. He said it was a florin, 9.25 silver, and he had a few of them but this one was the oldest so I bought this one and paid £9 for it.
I always like to find a bit of history so here goes, apparently in 1889 poor Friedrich Nietzche suffered a breakdown after witnessing a horse being flogged

The Eiffel Tower officially opens
P.png
and
apparently it was the debut of the worlds first jukebox, in Palais Royal Saloon in San Francisco!

so that was my day and it was a brilliant day!

That’s a wonderful old Crown @beckieg! Don’t forget on-line shopping! It might not be the same adventure, but searching through the product list and comparing prices and finding something that is awesome can be quite the thrill — and, as you said you had some mobility issues, on-line pirchases come directly to you!

Cheers! Always great to have another impassioned stacker ‘round here!
😎👍

this is good advice. I too have issues shopping locally, and on-line (like ebay) is the way to go for me.

Check out other suppliers too, there is some really GREAT deals out there from reputable sellers. — ‘cause let’s face it, e-bay has had some problens with buyer/seller satisfaction.

Yes, and definitely pay attention to the seller reviews on eBay.

⬆️ This ⬆️

ok putting this reply to both of you here wasnt sure how to reply to each comment lol thank you both for good advice i have said that ebay is a little frustrating i see many beautiful coins from other countries and the shipping is more than the coin lol so yes i am very much open to finding new sites and recommendations i am always open to finding new ways of seeking the treasure! i love being able to sit and peruse the internet looking for shiney pretties and ancient treasure ! to me its as much an adventure as visitng the shop, also its cheaper and easier for me thank you reminding m to read reviews so far all i lokoed at was whether they had 100% on the seller rep thing really i just go on there because i was unsure where else to go for vintage coins the shiny ones i use sharps pixley though again i would appreciate recommendations for other sites as they dont have a large choice and i have a new found passion for ingots and bars and poured silver , all because of reading the many excellent posts of the ssg community i have seen so many beautiful silver things! i want to own them all :) thank you both for these comments i appreciate them much respect

A beautiful crown, always love it's design, I've got a pair of Vicki crowns myself. Join us Stacking Pirates by adding the #piratesunday tag to this post after all it is Pirate Sunday 22!

hi, thank you thats brilliant i love being a pirate and i always call my silver my treasure trove :) i will gladly add the tag thank you, i have found a fab silver batmobile on ebay lost my heart to it i have :) and so many coins added to my wish list its a mile long lol i have even taken to quizzing elderly relatives as to what old coins they have lol silver is very addictive lol thank you for commenting i hope you have a fab day, respect

I live in Brazil so it is difficult for me to buy old British coins, but I love the design of the silver crown. Congrats on your new additions to the stack.

hiya, brazil thats brilliant and i must admit some of the shipping prices on ebay stop me from buying different coins and it is difficult, if there was someone clever on steem that could work out an app or something so we could buy coins with steem it would be a big help, or any silver for steem, i am sure there must be an easier way for people like you and i to collect coins from different countries, i am not good with the technological side of things but there seems to be an app for everything these days, i would love to hear more about brazil and what its like to live there, thank you for commenting i appreciate it, i hope you have a fab day, respect

The crown is about the right price and it always nice to add to your stack

hi, thank you i appreciate you saying i wasnt sure and i know i let my eagerness cloud any good judgement i may have had :) its nice to know i didnt pay over the odds, i hope you have a fab day, respect

Welcome aboard pirate!

hiya many thanks for your kind welcome i appreciate it, much respect!

You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:

nearly clapped my hands in joy, not sure if I actually did but the youngest was giving me that 'you're embarassing me mam' look.
It should be embarrassing instead of embarassing.
